If the Chiefs go on to win this game, you will hear about this play and the refs forever.

Not quite. The official clock (as opposed to what is on the TV) has hundredths of a second. So they're waiting for it to hit :00.00. That means there is nearly a full second before the clock ACTUALLY hits zero. They should show that clock on TV to stop this topic from being debated so much.

Thanks for this explanation. That's why it appears that they give an additional tick of the clock before throwing the flag.

In the replays they showed the ball was covered by bodies. It wasn't clear enough to overturn, I suspect.

Lesson: Stop repeatedly doing a play that just barely gets the half yard you need. Call another play.

It was a bad spot, but that blows my mind that Buffalo ran that play again.

Every single week, teams seem to lose their mind playing against the Chiefs doing dumb stuff, and apparently that was Buffalo's moment.

Allen also fumbled the ball on the previous tush push and got away with it. Same thing - too many bodies to see the play.

The far Ref started running out along a line well past the line, then veered over, that seemed strange to me.
The ref with the better view of the play was running in short of the line to gain.

One line judge acrually saw it correctly.

But he quickly and nonchalantly did with what he was supposed to do and stepped back with his fellow ref short of the 1st down.
