Edit: "I" Thought it was pretty obvious and egregious that the Refs were steering the game. What bullshit.

"You kinda know what's up before you walk into the arena."

Reminds me of Aros' comments about walking into XL.

No doubt . Hopefully Travis Swift will soon retire. There will still be the Mahomes nut huggers, but maybe the opposition will benefit from a more leveled playing field.

Even my friends that are hardcore Chiefs fans lol at many of the calls that go their way. I know, cuz I never let them miss one 😉

As I said in the other thread on the subject, I'm not signing on to any conspiracy theories. But that was the most obviously biased job of officiating that I've seen since XL, and this time, I didn't have a horse in the race as I didn't really care who won.

Whether the league agrees with the majority of the fans or not, they have a serious credibility issue on their hands.

Viewership down over 9 percent for wildcard weekend..maybe people are getting tired of it.

outside of mahomes .. is was the chiefs in general, hell apparently when it came to the point of emphasis this yr (hip drop tackles) chiefs weren’t being flagged for those when the Texans kept looking at the ref like “wtf man…” lol

I’m over the NFL now. It’s easier if I just look at it like WWE, rather than Cling on to the notion of its pure. Pure for the athletes who actually give it 100% not so pure for the athletes like mahomes who flopped the out of bounds shit and the head official who essentially has now shown the NFL audience they can and will influence games as they see fit or want.

NFLVegas baby! Now which NFL player will piledrive another player.. that’s my next question lol

The biggest thing that I don't understand is 'why' the league would juice for the Chiefs?

I mean aside from the Swift connection? They aren't a big 'market' team - I can understand it more with LA or SF or NY or a big market. I saw a map yesterday that basically Chiefs are the most popular team with LOTS of Western Canadians - but as proud as I am of being Canadian - that's an almost insignificant market?

Don't get it.

That's one of the reasons why I'm not subscribing to the conspiracy theories. It simply doesn't add up, doesn't pass the smell test. There's lots of other teams, the Cowboys, Bears, Niners, Steelers, et al who have a bigger following than do the Chiefs.

Canadians aren't real nfl fans...they cling to a winner. I recall seeing tons of ppl wearing Patriots and even seahawks gear...now it's all chiefs. Before Taylor and Mahomes most canadians didn't know where KC even is...most probably think it's near Boston.

Interesting that you mention WWE. I was thinking this morning how when I was very young, like pre-teens, how I used to watch professional wrestling but as I grew a little older, it became obvious to me that it was staged, idiotic flops, etc, so I quit watching it, never to have returned to its various reincarnations. Although I don't agree with your POV, there's a lot of very smart, rational people who do, and it's hurting the league.

An original team with mega star power on the payroll? Nfl makes a billion every time they show her on the screen...

Mahomes gets those calls because he works the refs, like James Harden and Lebron James in the NFL. He flops, he looks to initiate let contact, etc. and he's the poster boy of the league right now so refs are worried about getting it wrong.

No conspiracy theory really needed... it's still trash, though.

The NFL makes a billion every time they show Taylor Swift on the screen? A bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?

But I do admit that she makes the Chiefs more popular than they otherwise would be. I just don't think its to the point where it would justify a conspiracy to steer games.

Ok maybe not a billion..but the nfl is capitalizing financially on her showing up...even if they pay her to be there...viewership has gone up amongst young people just because of her. Old people who watch this game are gonna die eventually..gotta sell the game to the young.

I agree that at least one of the calls on Mahomes hits were pretty blatantly bad calls.

But of course you would never ever ever ever EVER find bad calls that help the Chiefs' opponents, right? This is only a narrative because the Chiefs are a highly successful team.

Well - I don't know what you'd call a real fan :)

I been hanging around for a while, stopped flying down for games during the Mora 'era'. And, honestly - in casual contact with work people, and others that I run across - there really is a mix of teams that are supported up here. My wife's office is 5 people. Got a Hawks, Steelers and Broncos fan in the mix. Hawks is my wife, for the record :) Although I will say that Seahawks and Broncos are *quite* popular amongst fans who I would say really know 'anything' about the game.

And honestly, aside from supposedly taking us over tomorrow, most yanks probably wouldn't know where Saskatoon or Prince George or Brandon or various other places in Canada are either so:

😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

But you can still have our oil for 1/2 price - so you got that goin' for ya :)

Most are casual fans that just pick a winner to follow. When the chiefs dunasty is over and another begins for another team than they'll wear that gear next...

Won't my wife be surprised! Now if only I could access Taylor's bank account.....

People complained about Brady. Then Rodgers. Now Mahomes. The common thread? They were all top of the chart elite QBs, so they beat just about every team in the league. "The refs cheated" is the go-to excuse for the fans of every losing team every week.
