He isn't desperate, no need to prove anything, he will go where the team fits his philosophy, that means non meddling owner, control of personnel, Head Coach and he hires his own guys. That rules out a lot of teams.

I think PC would actually be really good for Caleb. He'd teach him all about defenses and bring him back down to earth making things more simple for him. In watching him play, I think he needs that.

Bringing Caleb back down to earth? As planet earth is protected by atmosphere.
Most of those Celabs trying to re-enters the atmosphere will burn up before reaching the ground due to the friction with air, especially if it's in a low Earth orbit.

This season, Bears tried to bring Celab back down to earth, do you remember those bright trails in the sky? That was Celab burning in those attempts. Luckily, Celab's team pulled him back out.

So, where would Pete go where he could coddle a young QB who then turns into a "me first" diva? Where are the young QBs? That will narrow it down.

If the Philly job came open, it's a no brainer. They need a real a HC. Their staff and talent are already in place. They just need an adult to guide them.

I love Pete but there didn’t seem to be any interest last year in him so doubt there would be this year. I think if you give him a young offensive OC Pete would be great for a Celeb Williams in Chicago.
Plot twist, the bears hire Pete as HC and he brings in Waldron to be his OC but he puts on a fake moustache and sells him as Shawn Waldron

Their biggest problem is a QB that can't pass the ball in clear passing situations. Lucky for them that roster is good enough to avoid those situations until deep in the playoffs

Maybe they need a new QB that can excel in clear passing situations?

I don't really see a place for him in the NFL. One of the things that allowed Pete Carroll to work is complete autonomy over the front office and situation. Pete was a chill guy, but they also were keenly aware that he had the power to cut them at any time. He won't likely be given that kind of autonomy over a team.

The second thing with Carroll is lack of recent success in his specialty. He hasn't fielded a top 10 defense since 2016. He also hasn't won a playoff game since 2019 and his hires at coordinator had been progressively getting worse over time.

Carroll knows how to put together a program, but does he have enough time to establish culture? He would be close to his mid 70s and the oldest coach to ever coach the game in the NFL. How long do you have to bet on a guy like that staying around long term? Can a guy like that stay on top when it comes to NFL trends and changes? I'd argue the later is why he isn't here anymore.

Carroll was one of the last coaches to adopt a more modern defense. Most teams primarily play out of nickel and dime packages, Seattle played at the highest percentage of base defense as recently as 2021. This is just one example of Carroll not adapting to modern NFL trends.

The game has passed Carroll by. He hasn't proven that he can pilot a top defense nor did he hire great offensive coaches. He brings culture, but there is the question of how long does he have to set said culture, and how will the GM empower Carroll to do so?

Carroll could probably immediately win more games with a team, but long term the prognosis for a Carroll character doesn't look good. I don't think I could count on him to be around for that long as an owner.

Giants!!!!

Pete can bring Geno with him to stabilize the QB situation, and baby sit that QB of that future. Giant has an ok defense, but they also have draft capital to address some needs.

Win - Pete gets to coach and in a big media market.

Win - Pete takes over a team with some talents on defense.

Win - dot net GeNOs finally free from Geno Smith.

Win - Geno get a year or two more playing years and not be cut by Seahawks.

I dont think the game has passed Carroll by, it seems like the league is actually becoming more friendly to the types of teams Carroll likes rather than away from it. Just a prediction of mine but it does kind of seem like the NFL is just too much for this younger generation of QBs, this season is already favorable for the return of the feature running back.
