I would like to see this team build an oline that doesn't get pushed around and instead does the pushing. Physical bullies while being able to pass protect at a decent clip. I'd like to see the team also draft at least a late round project QB once in while as they wait for their chance to go all in on one. It didn't make sense to me to lose a bit of draft capital on Howell when we could have just taken someone like Joe Milton, or something similar, in the late rounds and had better draft slots. Keep building the trenches and pounce on any opportunity for a young QB.

I will put this out there before any future speculation suggests CJ Stroud.

Watching the game against the Chiefs today shows all indications this guy is anti-clutch.

What a drop off from his promising start in the NFL.

Yeah Howell seems like he has less chance of being the QBOTF as geno. His appearance in the Green Bay game really hurt his image as a viable option. Maybe he wasn’t ready, but he has nothing to do at all but get ready…

Not to take away from Darnold but Justin Jefferson is incredible. Watching Darnold's TD passes and blown away how often receivers are getting separation and how diverse the routes are. Most of these TDs are quick plays.

Watching the INTs -- just awful. Really bad decisions. 11 INT and 7 of them are within the opponents 30 yard line.

If we run it back with Geno as our starter in 2025, I'm going to be depressed. And get ready for the dwindling number of 12's at Lumen to continue. "OK, then who do you suggest we replace him with?" That's not my job. We have a GM who is well compensated (too well) to figure these things out. Frankly, I hope he's gone too.

Would rolling with Lock over Geno in 25 have put butts in seats? Because that was the sentiment among many - that Lock was younger and had more upside... if only he could get a fair shake.

Will Howell bring fans back?

Neither would.

You know what's more depressing than not liking the qb on your team?

Replacing him and then trying to stare 5-12 in the face and convince yourself 'we are rebuilding toward something better with our QBOTF'...

How many teams right now have a fifty million plus a season QB that is sucking. A dozen? Hell the Broncos are paying over 50 million on a QB no longer on their roster. Geno under his present contract makes a lot of sense especially since there is no realistic option that is better at this present time. It is a crap shoot at best finding one in the draft. This is not Madden

You may be right but at the same time the Bengals have a worse line and yet Burrow is putting up MVP numbers. Drake Maye a rookie plays being a worse line with zero weapons. Seattle is light years better at RB and WR with a better line and yet Maye is putting up similar numbers numbers to Geno and is playing better as the season goes on.

Maybe some of it is on Geno too?
Maye went second overall in the draft. Last time I looked, we are not even in the running for a pick that high

🤔 Trade for Lawrence?

If Lawrence looked like Geno he would be riding the pine.

Dude gets by on looking 'the part'. He's a modern day version of Jesse Palmer with some skill and arm talent. But he doesnt much to warrant his draft status and in the games I've seen him play, he consistently does dumb sh1+. Its like fans and media NEED him to fulfill some destiny to becime the next football God at QB.
I dont see it.

No way.

What about the Bears. First overall draft pick getting a generational QB. Fans thought they were Suberbowl contenders. Williams has not been good at all this year. More often then not, The QB you draft fails more often then they succeed. This is not Madden

That's always been my stance. Geno was never the answer, but you couldn't ask for a better bridge QB. Problem is, bridge to what? Where and when are we going to have an opportunity at a top rated QB coming out of college? I just don't see it anytime soon, this team isn't ever going to suck hard enough in the next couple of seasons to draft at the top.

So we should swap Geno for Burrow. I'll take it.
