Bryce Young seems to be playing pretty well since he's come back from the dead. So is he still a bust? Should there be a debusting ceremony?
I don't think he could have been every called a "bust" so soon.

In serious trouble, yes he was (and likely still is) but to label him a bust so soon is-a-bit-a-too-mucha.

I personally believe that calling athletes "busts" so early in their career is ridiculous. This is especially true for QBs. There are exceptions to this rule for players that completely lack the physical capacity for playing the position. Think Dan McGuire.

Canales was able to turn around Mayfield and now Young.

But it is not some secret formula. Going through your reads, throwing the ball quickly and with anticipation. BB and Brady talk about this all the time about the importance of the QB getting rid of the football quickly.

B. Young's game was about ball placement and knowing where to go with the football in college. He was trying to be an athlete out there early on as a pro using raw physical skill and he was being exposed. Canales correctly diagnosed him: Protect BY up the middle by signing two big guards, upgrade the RB room to add with Hubbard. But more importantly the ball has to leave his hands quickly and with anticipation. BY wasn't buying in so Canales benched him and he finally started to understand what he was being taught by Canales.

The NFL in general fails to develop young QBs. The NFL is a bust.

I don’t think you’re a bust until you get cut and waste your teams pick, even if you make it with another team you still hurt the original team by not paying off. But I guess sometimes it can be the teams fault that the player didn’t payoff, like baker mayfield, or even geno

Did Geno bust, de-bust and is now re-busting?

*runs for cover*
You can make a decent case that Geno is a de-bust but not that he is de-busting.

There might be a slight decline since his 2022 peak, mainly due to more interceptions but how much of that is down to the Oline? (In 2022 he also had the advantage that opposing DCs had little recent tape on him.

NFL.com has him ranked 9 in 2022 and 15 now which is probably about right the 15h best QB in the league is a long way from a bust. Even if the decline continues and in a year or 2 he gets cut and can't get a starting job anywhere it would be more that age has caught up with him rather than being a bust. Paynton Manning was not a bust because of his performance in 2015 (9 TDs and 17 Ints).

Did you say "Paintin'" or "Peyton"?

I was kind of joking, however Peyton Manning’s arm was dead hence his numbers were bad, it wasn’t because he made perplexing decisions. Geno still has a cannon, he just sometimes does things that are just baffling.

You can't declare if a player is a bust after only 1-3/4 of seasons played especially a QB it's the hardest position in the nfl to acclaime that's why so many 1st rd QB's fail... Comeback to this subject in other 3-4yrs and if his 5th yr option isn't picked up, or he hasn't signed an extension then you could call him a bust because that means he hasn't done enough for the team to want him back.. I think it's funny year after year people want to say a players is a bust or not only after a season or 2...
