I haven’t seen Howell play with this team and behind a potentially good line with these weapons. Have you?
Do people still care what Sherm has to say? Honest question. The worm chimes in.

Seahawks legend Richard Sherman makes the case for a Geno Smith contract extension | Sporting News
When it came to the subject of his contract, Sherman stepped in and made the case for Geno to get paid.www.sportingnews.com
Do you think we can easily find another early-RW3 in the third round again?
That's a fair point. JS can certainly find one if he's there. I don't know how often they are there for the picking, though.I think this is possible GH. As much scrutiny that I give JS, the one area I think he excels at is recognizing QB talent.
Bring Daniel Jones in and give him a look-see. Are we building a champion, or hanging our hat on Geno. Where would you rate Geno on best Hawk QB's ever? Behind Zorn, Krieg, Hasselbeck, and RW. Was Zorn ever going to get us to the top? NO, but he was fun and funky. The same goes for Geno, he is a top 20 QB in the league, anyone want him? Only Seattle? Let him go, we need to build a team. You do that through the draft, without the hindrance of the cap drag of a guy who CANNOT get us to the Promised Land. That is why you trade him before 2024 deadline, because in 25 you will have to pay him or cut him. BIG mistake hanging the Hawks helmets on this castoff. How does the draft look for qbs in the bext couple of years?
Well put, and I totally agree.Sans injury to Smith, I’d like to see what the Seahawks have in Howell before making the decision to extend Smith and/or allowing Smith to seek another offer to set his value.
Smith is what he is. He’s average to above average with little potential to drive a team deep into the playoffs. Struggles in the red zone, and is unable put the team on his shoulders and will the team to victory. He is not a field general, and wilts under pressure.
I never did, he had his day, but his day was over a week ago.Do people still care what Sherm has to say? Honest question.
As a player on the team, I am thinking Playoffs or bust. As a fan or a FO manager, I am not seeing the point of battling it out to win 9 games and make the playoffs. Who wants to be the sacrificial lamb, how about one of the other 3 NFC West teams? I say, let's play ball and plan for no Geno next year.I think everyone is vastly overestimating how much this team needs to be good, but that's me.
As for the question, I'm still undecided on this one. I think more of this season needs to play out and with the unexpected change at Center, the cleaning house mid-season at LB, and the return of Lucas means I honestly don't know what this team is or where this team really stands.
The NFC West is--outside of the Cards (who we still get to play twice)--all within 1 game of .500. To me, coming out of this bye, we're near clean slate level. So, I just don't see the purpose of deciding what to do with Geno (or anyone) right now.
So, to me, this is a 'Wait and See' decision.
