Mike has been okay. He's still raw around the edges, but that's not unexpected. I like what he's done with the defense. I'll hold off judgment of him as an HC until the season plays out. My biggest complaint is the team's overall lack of an identity. I mean, when you look at the Seahawks, what do you hang your hat on?

For the most part, though, my ire goes toward the FO and ownership. Mike gets a pass. They put him in a no-win situation by setting high expectations for him to either match or surpass a HoF coach in his first season. That's where the negativity is coming from. Their messaging was amateur hour stuff—all the talk of underachieving and having a championship-caliber roster—none of it matched up with bringing in a rookie head coach on a short timeline.

Gotta build in the trenches. The oline needs to at least get to average. This oline is inherited. The entire staff has to have a plan to right that ship. I have seen the offense be explosive. So the potential is there.
ON defense we need to keep building quality depth. Not just dudes that cost a fortune. I voted more time...

I actually expected this team to struggle. The team is in cap hell and has some bad contracts. Mike has this team finishing around 500. With a lesser team than Carroll had. I see this team being really good next year. It's not gonna take over night.

I picked other because in my opinion, he’s a young guy that has never lead an entire team so it’s hard to say one way or the other. We will see in around two years from now whether or not he is a true leader, but the jury is still out in my opinion at this point.

I decided early on, before the season, that I would let this season go. I wouldn't get all bent out of shape about their overall win/loss record... AS LONG AS there were improvements in the areas that were clearly problems during the past seasons.

I also had higher hopes for the defense by this point... and figured the o-line would take more time, but would have looked better than they do now.

I'm a little bummed, but still patient.

MM needs more time. The poor offensive line he inherited is not his fault and has thrown off the entire operation. We have seen brief flashes of what the defense can be.

I voted what I expected and more time applies. You can't rebuild a team to your vision in the NFL within 1 year. The real measure will be the end of next year for comparison to see if he is going in the right direction. I hope to see improvements in the O line and D line depth for sure. It is going to be tough with salary caps, limited draft picks, and availability of talent at the NFL level.

My view: first year head coaches should be given that first season to focus on transitioning the team to the new system/style, especially since first-year coaches are almost always on a non-playoff team.
My only real exception to this rule is if the coach fails so spectacularly in leadership that he completely loses the team. The only coach I have ever wanted fired after first season was Jim Mora Jr for precisely this reason. You can have a bad record, but you have to achieve that bad record with the team still intact.

The problem with cap hell and bad contracts is that the GM has to accept where the team is and make logical moves to that effect.
Schneider has fallen into a classic trap: making moves with long-term ramifications for short-term gain without any real chance at the superbowl.
Either make moves that make sense for a rebuilding team, or go all-out to win (resulting in either winning or needing to rebuild).
Mediocre teams who make mediocre moves stay mediocre.

Pretty much where I'm at.

MMac's biggest problem is that he won his first 3 games. If the schedule had been different and he lost the first 3 but still been a game out of first place in the Division at this point, .Net would be calling him the greatest coach ever.

He's a defensive guru and even with a ton of growing pains early the defense is playing better than last years 28th ranked defense to now 18th and I think it can continue to get better.

It's about what I expected and hoped. Defense is starting to show improvement at least after adding Jones at LB. We'll see if it continues. That's all that I wanted to see.

Not sold on Grubb. Not because of results, I just don't like his style of offense. I want smash-mouth, clock control, long drives. It's just me, I've always enjoyed that more. I know it'd be impossible with this line right now anyway but I don't think that's his style even if he was capable.

Also have been sour on JS for quite some time now. Coach Mike is my least worry right now. Just my 2 cents.

Coach took over a paper tiger, going to take some time to get this team in winning form. I expected (and still do) an up and down year, with the outside shot at the wildcard.

This is not a good team, but there are flashes of what's to come. Very promising.

Yup, if MM doesn't show continual improvement I would like to see him for a year or two without Schneider. Just like I wanted to see Schneider for a year or two without Pete.

I like this post , maybe because that's what I'm thinking. The way this team is constructed presently, it's not a strong contender but I have faith once MM is firmly established, it's going to kick ace Veronica Vaughn.
