How many games do you think he can win if he were to start the rest of the season.

Oh, the guy who was darn near the top of the league in passing attempts, yet couldn't even crack 4k yards? Or how about the guy that was one of the league leaders in interceptions? You all need to be real with yourselves, right now Howell is NOT an upgrade.

I'm not sure about that..I think under a different team and coaching he could be a difference maker. Until proven otherwise I believe it to be possible.

It would be cruel to put Sam Howell in as a quarterback now as he’s already shellshocked from that Washington offensive line last year and would only see the same right now.

Geno had been good so far and I don't think we should make a QB change right now. But if we are below .500 3 weeks from now I see no reason to keep playing Geno. I think Sam can get us just as many wins the rest of the way.

Behind this O-line? Maybe one…

There’s a sure and definitive reason that Geno is starting and it’s not because Sam Howell is better.

This team already is playing like a team that isn't buying into the vision. They get dejected, they pout, there's been more loafing, there's players complaining about it, etc.

Giving up on a season by putting your backup in for a trial is a great way to immediately lose the locker room buy-in that DOES exist. Just food for thought.

I’m high on Howell long term and think he has a ton of promise but you can’t throw him in now. I seriously doubt he’s better than Geno at this stage and you would lose the team. Geno isn’t playing bad enough to bench imo.

I do think Howell could have a Geno resurgence down the road at some point in his career though.

Geno has had one truly bad game so far. Last Thursday night. He won us the Patriot game and was good enough in the others. Howell does not have the arm Geno does or the accuracy. I'm glad we have Howell as a back up. I have no problem with what we gave up for him but in the end Geno is simply better.

OR...maybe it would give him a boost of confidence and he just might surprise some of us fans..sort of like Geno when Russ left. Did anyone know for sure that Geno would have the success he did when he took over?

It’s a valid point. Geno was a backup for 10 years for a reason. You never know what you have.

This post reminds me of when the seahawks traded a third rounder for clipboard Jesus. Charlie Whitehurst sucked ass. Hasselbeck and TJax (RIP) were better but we still had fans calling for whitehurst

Edit: might be too hard on clipboard Jesus here but I still remember the day I watched the 6-3 loss to the browns. I can’t believe I wasted a Sunday doing that. He did get us a win for thr 7-9 playoffs

Geno is generally not the problem with the exception of the 9er game. However, he has turned into a pick machine. 6td's and 6 picks isn't going to get it done. One of Geno's positives is that he didn't turn the ball over much. If that goes away so does much of his value.
