44 passes called. 7 rushes.

I can't even come up with a good defense of it.

Random thought: I hope ownership isn't dictating this suicidally pass-heavy crap. Kolde is notable for doing similar stuff with the Blazers.

Game was somehow 10-10 and K9 had 3? rushes at that point. The OL could not pass block to save their lives and Grubb stayed pass happy. I’ve been a fan of his for sure to start the year, today he takes some egg on his face. The OL needed to get their footing and start mashing in the ground game, way too pass happy against a DL annihilating our OL every snap.

Also I hope to see 4 new starters on the OL next year. Worthless bunch.

I don’t care who you are, there has to be better balance than that
We could have Patrick Mahomes and 3 Megatrons. I'd still scoff at that split.

Just absolutely nasty stuff. Would make Lions-era Scott Linehan blush.

Just looking through the play by play they once again were in 2nd and 3rd and long a lot. I think that dictated more throws.

Horrific playcalling. Why are we going for it all in the second down play call, on that drive. Keep going short and picking up first downs and running down the clock. Just insanity all day.

Good call. This is the same exact hellscape Russell Wilson tried to have the entire organization fired for.

That crap doesn't work. Especially in an NFL that's leaning back to the run game.

We will never be good on offense if we are one dimensional

Unfortunately the interior of our offensive line sucks. It has sucked for years now. It will continue to suck as long as we have Schneider as our GM. He under values the position and has pretty much said that. The last time we had a good interior lineman, Unger, Schneider traded him away for a TE who couldn’t block

This year we can’t run between the Tackles

I am usually not negative but year after year we have the same problem

Waldron had the same issue here, lets not pretend that he didn't. Our team has become very one dimensional since we lost to the Dallas Cowboys back when Schotty was our coordinator. It was common to see low a low volume of run plays like this, this has a trend that has existed across multiple OC's and now multiple HCs.

Waldron at least had better scripted drives. He shat himself when he had to just call plays off the dome, but the scripts were always decent and made sense.

This... I don't know what the hell the plan was from the start.

When all your runs are getting hit in the backfield and your D is gassed you do what you you gotta do I guess. Comparing Grubbs to Waldron is a joke though…. Our Defense let us down, period.

We ran 7 times for 30 yards (on designed runs)... it wasn't like we got stuffed 7 times, to be fair

Looks like a guy who thinks he's still in college to me. That type of gameplan works in the NCAA, he better learn quickly that it's not ideal in the NFL.

The point remains, this has been an issue across multiple coordinators, even the guy that was obsessed with the running game in his other stints (Schottenheimer). Carroll historically was a huge stickler for strong running games, including spending a large amount of draft capital on running backs.

At what point does John Schneider own this disaster offensive line? This is his fault.
