In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.
Mea Culpa, maxima mea culpa. It just seemed like he came from nowhere. That's what I get. 2011, I began my divorce. It ended with her emptying my bank accounts and leaving me with a house payment, and no backup. I was distracted. I had to go back and look, I actually went from maximum TV coverage, to limited to antenna. Western slope on a hill in Kitsap county.... NOT conducive to anything but channel 13 and some small channels like PBS et al. I lost a lot of time there. Picked it back up around fall of 2013. Instead of lots of football, it was lots of work, beer and chasing women...lol
That's a whole lot of words and excuses to simply say "I goofed! Oops!"

😂 just f'n witcha, chief.

Wait a minute--let's get real. Darrell Taylor has real value. In 2022, he had 9.5 sacks, 8 TFLs and 13 QB hits. Last year, he wasn't as good, but he still had 5.5 sacks and 7 TFLs.

The knock on him has been his run defense. But everything I've seen this year seems to indicate that he's gotten a lot better. Among defensive linemen, he's third on the team in PFF run defense behind Derrick Hall and Byron Murphy. Maybe it's a better scheme or better coaching, but it's been better.

We're paying him $3.1 million, and you're not going to find a player who can get you 9.5 sacks for anything close to that price. He might not be an every down player, but he has real value to this team.

Our outside LBs are going to be Nwosu, Mafe, Hall and Taylor. I'd be very surprised if he's cut.
Nice post.

I hope he does well as long as he's a Seahawk . I just think he disappears for long stretches of time. A sack is a sack but in context. That's the quietest 9.5 sacks I've ever seen.

I have little to no idea what his fate with the team is now. Last year was definitely a disappointment. I do, however, get the sense that MM is a no-nonsense guy, and that if you're going to make this team you have to convince him that you're all-in or you're out.

Hahaha. I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing because this is me in 2021. I suddenly have no money in my bank account, bills that I can’t pay because of that no money, child support to pay or I get garnished, mortgage still under my name even though I don’t live there. I did what you did 😂

I lived there for 12 months, told the mtgg company, I was defaulting. Saved the money for the payments, literally bought a MH in a park for cash and went banko. Divorce at age 60 WTF can you do? Like BING BANG BOOM, get home from work, the movers are there ON MY BIRTHDAY.

There are a lot of superstars who didn't shine until they had some seasoning. PLUS he is not a rent-a-player.

That’s f’ing brutal. I realized when I went to take $20 from an ATM and got declined. The ex moved everything to her own personal account. I’ll never do a joint bank account again.

Back on topic ...............

If Hall keeps coming on Taylor will be forgotten.

Frank Clark was a rush specialist that arrived in the league just in time to cash in on the NFL game of his time. Taylor, as his potential replacement, arrived a little too late. League wide adoption of the use of the run pass option had firmly established itself. Also, a trend of directing running back at wide nine rush specialists have proven very effective. Taylor has made intermittent progress at expanding his game. Although, he has yet to reliably stack and shed with conviction and he still requires excessive read before react time ... IMO.

Hall and Taylor are very different players. Although Taylor remains a capable pass rush specialist, Hall better addresses where league trends have led. A much more versatile, physical and developing project.

Or found the "conversations" button up in the top right corner? ;)
This is what this forum lacks nowadays. Getting to know people and caring about a person, a community. This place is heartless now. Please delete if the Mods want.

I'd argue that those sack numbers were inflated. I keyed in on Taylor pretty hard in 2022, because I was high on the dude coming out. Taylor got 9.5 sacks, but he also seemed invisible most of the time. Even in obvious passing downs he was easily stopped.

Darrell Taylor still has usage as a passing down specialist, BUT there is one major rub on him that might cause him to not make the team. Taylor was awful at playing within any sort of structure. He had to be directed where to lineup and he often times abandoned his post in pursuit of a sack. He plays a very undisciplined brand of football. MacDaniel's system is a lot less forgiving than Carroll's system. It requires precision and knowing your assignment.
