I am actually damn grateful that they fought back, even with the game out of reach. You never expect seven runs out of this offense.

Also, **** that shitty umpire.
Yep, just counts as one loss, and the Cheatstros lost. Lace em up again today and get that W.
It REALLY sucks that the ump didn't do his damn job and that 3rd inning should have been over.
However, hard to only put it on the ump when you give up 14 runs. A rare bad day for Walter. Happens to the best pitchers from time to time, all of them.

I think we win the next 2.

I at least like how they kept playing at the end. Flush it and move on.

Let's hope we get good Luis tomorrow.
He's been good most of the season. Look at that ERA. The record doesn't show it. Look at Felix when he won the cy young, that offense rarely gave him run support. The Rock is dealing with the same crap this year. 3.38 ERA is damn good these days. Yet he's sitting here with an 8-10 record. I'm not putting that all on him at all.

To be fair, all of our pitchers have had to deal with that this season.

I doubt any of them have as bad of a run support as Castillo though.
Kirby is 8-7 with a 3.03
The Rock is 8-10 with a 3.38
Gilbert is 6-7 with a 3.11
Miller is 8-7 with a 3.46
Woo has been really impressive, sucks he's been so injured.
He's 4-1 with a 2.35

But your point is taken, they all deal with this sh** offense. Just seems like Castillo has the worst run support of all of them.

Our starting pitching is plain ridiculous. What an absolute waste if they don't get better on offense. I can't assume that they'll ever be at this level as a starting 5. It makes this season more maddening. They are almost unwatchable at times w/this putrid offense.
Once we get a red hot Julio back, JP back to add to our new additions? No excuse to not at least be average on offense. Side note: Robles has been the surprise of the season, imo. I had little to no expectations from him.

The reason for Gilbert having a short outing wasn’t the missed strike call from the umpire but not having control of his slider which wasn’t breaking and just asking to be hit it happens no matter how good a pitcher is. He threw over 40 pitches in the 3rd inning for only a total of 69. Servais could see he didn’t have it and was struggling so he pulled him early

M's got cute and tried sneaking a fast ball for a strike pass Devers on an 0-2 count. Lol. Dude has a 1.000 OPS.

Cal strikes out with bases loaded on 5 straight balls. Glad to see there's still no coaching or thinking going on.

D-Mo coming through. Hold this lead fellas.

Damn Cal, he didn’t throw you a single strike and you strike out.

Ok, M's, let's do something radical tonight. Like, hold the lead all the way to the final out in the bottom of the ninth?

Oh boy here we go

They win. 5 straight games with 6+ runs. Trades rarely happen early in the year but wow imagine if they had robles, turner, randy most of the season. Rivas had a bunt base hit (then Servais takes him out for Rojas whos' batting literally .200 since JUNE 1st, lmao) but that was nice to see. Keep doing it. Make fielders field the ball.

Random fact:
Mitch Garver is batting .174 with an OPS of .630 and still has 5 more doubles than Julio. That's hard to believe, and quite frankly, sad. Pitchers have figured out Julio he needs to adjust the coaches need to help him adjust. IMO he should either scoot back just a smidge or choke up just a smidge. Pitchers are coming inside on him more, plus theres no discipline so the chances of him swinging is high but actually doing something productive is low. Bad combo. BUT...with the guys they picked up to be veterans/mentors to Julio will be huge. They can help Julio, they need to. If you're Julio right now grab a chair listen and learn.

Polanco silly hot since all star break OPS is 1.0+

No lead is safe at Fenway, TBS. Had me worried a bit there when they started chipping away at the lead.

Wow, their D really does have some problems, doesn't it. Got some great help there in several plays.

Non save opportunity but I have no problem bringing Moony in there. Just get the outs and he's the best guy we got for that. Tough offense to shut down.

Chance to win the series tomorrow.

Turner, Turner, Turner, an Irishman should dance better than that.

If it had ended 10-3, I was going to post that revenge is a dish best served **** you. Still a nice win, though.

Polanco has been insane since the All-Star break. At least that's one player that's found his stroke.

One good thing about Julio being out is giving Victor Robles a chance to play every day. He has been a revelation.

Having Robles and Arozarena at the top of the order looks more like the top of a major league lineup.

If Polanco keeps hitting, that's 5 plus hitters anyway: Robles-Arozarena-Polanco-Raleigh-Turner. If Julio and Raley (and JP when he gets back) can get back to the way they've been, we'll be good.

Raley and Haniger might have to be the DH platoon. It's not great, but it's an improvement over Garver. Garver is going to have to spell Cal more behind the plate to keep Cal fresh down the stretch.

Julio is batting .375 with 4hrs and 8 ribbies the last 15 games. He is batting .417 with 2hrs and 5 ribbies in last 7.

Have you been even watching? Julio was red hot, again, before the injury. And now it sounds like you're making him out to NOT be a team player. Geezus

No doubt. What a huge surprised. Makes sense why Robles was a top prospect coming into the league. Kid can play, and he clearly can rake.

Polanco, damn, didn't see that coming. He was looking at one point like he would be sent down. Robles, Arozarena, Polanco, Cal, Turner, Julio, JP etc. This offense could actually get some work done. They needed to add a big bat, they have one coming. His name is Julio.

The new guys are contributing, again something I didn't see coming. Enjoying some good crow. Will they make the playoffs? Maybe.
I'll take it. Also, there is an energy level that we haven't seen in a while. Add that to Julio always having that high energy, we're in business.
Julio, Arozarna and Robles needs to be the OF when he returns. Sorry Mitch.
