It's widely expected that Bosa's contract will be somewhere in the range of $165 million over 5 years. Most likely, they are arguing about guaranteed money at this point. TJ Watt had $80 million guaranteed on his 4-year deal, so there's a starting point.
The reason the 49ers' window is closing is that they are already under water as far as cap space is concerned for 2024, even before taking Bosa's contract into consideration, so they will have to become bargain shoppers if they need to fill any holes for the next few years. Lucky for them, they not only have a QB on a rookie deal, it's an extremely cheap one since Purdy was a 7th round pick. But if he's any good, they'll have to extend him early since there's no 5th year option for 7th round picks.
Bosa is a great player, but will it be a good investment to put so much money into one player? Although Bosa is young and healthy (apart from the ACL injury a couple of years ago), we've seen young players at that position get injured. JJ Watt didn't miss a game until his 6th season, then he basically had two years where he didn't play, 2016 and 2017.
I'd be interested to see what 49ers fans here (@Weadoption @49fansinceBrodie @94Smith @Marvin49 ) think about the Bosa deal. I mean you absolutely have to sign the guy--he can be a game wrecker all by himself, but that's a lot of money.

Projecting how much Nick Bosa will land on his next contract
We'll have to follow to see where this goes.
