Once this team drafts Jalen Carter and JL Skinner I'll feel much better about where the defense is at.

As of now, this is an average at best defense.

What's the status on Brooks? Is he expected to be full go by the opener?

I would not say that's our "projected" defense. We just barely started the free agency period and we have 10 picks in this years draft. I think there will definitely be many more moves for us on the defensive side of the ball.

Jamal Adams might miss some games to start next year, brooks had a bad injury and who knows when/what he’s gonna be like when he comes back. Bush didn’t play well for the Steelers last year (he’s a lottery ticket). Ryan Neal is probably gone if he signs with someone else. Al woods isn’t getting better there’s gonna be decline. And mafe and Taylor are not complete players at the moment both struggled against the run and only excel at rushing the passer

Lots of work to do

Alton and Tyreke might factor. There is some nice depth at OLB.

i'd be stoked if we got those 5 rookies. all great fits imo, even kancey. campbell would def start over bush, but yeah. looks good. still hoping we pickup 1 of the following in FA: gaines, ashawn robinson, bwagz

IIRC, an ACL injury takes at least a year to recover from, so I don't expect to see much of Brooks in 2023.

That’s a lot of wishful thinking

What off seasons are for, reality will come post draft, meantime I am enjoying it. That said, we have two picks in first and two in second, Kancey, Mazi, Will Mcdonald, and Campbell are doable, don't you think?
