On draft night eve Jalen Carter will be outed and his disguise removed to reveal old man Malik McDowell trying to start all over again with a bag of cash from some poor dumb team. And he would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for Vulcan Inc!

Anthony Richardson would be my option #2 if Anderson is gone and Jalen Carter is a no go. His physical tools scream superstar, and he can use this season to learn behind Geno
I like Richardson too, but what it he's gone by 5? What if the first 4 picks are Stroud, Young, Anderson and Richardson? This is a very real possibility.

It’s not a good sign that he couldn’t even finish the workout.

I don’t know if the kid is lazy or depressed, but teams need to do a LOT of due diligence before someone drafts him.

So to the "no" on Carter crowd, who the hell do we take if Anderson goes to Arizona? Levis? Wilson? Trade down for more picks with "potential?" None of those options sit well with me.
I think it's down to Anderson & Wilson. Whoever is left between the two.

Very true...
Then I hope they trade down a few spots OR draft Tyree Wilson

I was still all in on Carter at 5 until this showing at his Pro Day.

I'm a big dude myself and my weight can fluctuate on any given day by sometimes 8-10 pounds depending on water retention in my muscles from a heavy lift day. So, the 9 pound weight gain wasn't a deal breaker. The legal troubles and bonheaded decision making from a 21 year old wasn't a deal breaker either.

All that said. Doing nothing but measuring at the combine, then coming in to your Pro Day and listlessly going through positional drills and not even making it through them due to cramps? Bruh. That's all poor conditioning, nutrition, hydration, and work ethic.

Carter is giving me hard Robert Nkemdiche vibes, and for those reasons; I'm out.

Why would he put a ton of effort into managing his measurements?

Gee IDK here we are obsessing over his measurements on a multi-page thread, but IDK why he would put any effort into his measurements. . .
Since he didn't do anything at the combine, he should have been busting his ass training for his pro day. Instead, he showed up looking sloppy, not testing, and looking bad in drills. The dude is just lazy. Stop making excuses.

I don’t understand why some people are still trying to defend Carter. “9 pounds is only water weight”. Well here is the deal. Carter knew about this pro-day for awhile now. This is one of the biggest days of his career thus far. He shows up overweight, couldn’t even make it through all of his drills.

This is a long history here of skirting responsibility. Coach told him he needed to increase endurance. Looked winded all year.

Gets a speeding ticket for reckless driving.

Few weeks later races friend, leaves scene of accident.

Goes to pro day, should’ve been working out hard to address concerns. Shows up 9 pounds over-weight, couldn’t even finish his drills, looked winded.

The guy is showing a long history of poor judgement, skirting responsibility and work ethic. Doesn’t sound like a Seahawk to me.

He can’t even show up for the pro-day, you expect him to show up late in the season against the 49ers?

If Levis is there at 5, we take him. I would prefer Richardson, but Levis will work great in our system. We let him sit a year or two and then ride the rest of the rookie contract. Big time win for us.

Man idk if I can have sympathy or compassion for someone who has a shot at a one in a lifetime opportunity and to be well off for the rest of his life.. to just piss it away with absolute dog crap work ethic.
Maybe he is depressed over the deaths of his friends and being charged and drilled constantly over it is making it harder for him to cope? Depression is a nasty monster. He could just be lazy, but who knows.
