It’s a good haul, but not epic.

At #9 your clearly into the 2nd tier talent wise for this draft. Carolina is a solid team so that ‘24 R1 is likely to be a late pick.

Makes sense for Chicago who needs a serious talent infusion and is not in a spot to give up on Fields yet.
lol its a epic haul

The Bears need a WR and OT and picking one in 1-4 was not worth it. They found a partner and now they can rebuild their OL or draft a WR, or again trade down again which would be the best case.

1) Panthers - Stroud or Young
2) Texans - whichever of those 2 remains
3) Turds - Anderson
4) Colts - Richardson
:(
5) Hawks - Carter or trade down

Who's to say what the Bears were going to do, BUT If their plan was to take Carter and they still get him at 9 because he falls...

Solid move.

No doubt. They turned that #1 pick in to: TWO 1st round picks, TWO 2nd round picks and a damn good WR in DJ Moore.

It's not a win for Seattle. We need teams to trade with Seattle and give up picks.
Given the lack of good defensive tackles in the draft and free agency, I think it helps that a team that wasn't picking a QB moved down. We have a decent amount of picks.

Might be wishful projection, but I don’t see how QB isn’t the pick with this scenario.

Levis is sitting there and everything about the last two off seasons screams QB in ’23 (it even rhymes). Geno’s contract is built for a one and done escape with minimal impact and even some trade recoup.

I think we have to see how free agency goes for teams and potential trades before the draft. We still pick at 20 so who knows if a QB drops till then or they potentially grab Hooker in round 2 since they don't have to rush him.

I don't want to see teams run all over us again. I'm fine beefing up the defence and rolling with Geno for the year and grabbing a QB in 2024 which is a deep class.

All depends on how John feels about Levis. He will be the last of the big 4 QBs remaining at 5. If John gets that Josh Allen vibe from him, he won't be able to turn that card in fast enough.

I see AR goes #1 to Carolina.
I have a feeling…

#1 Panthers - Richardson
#2 Texans - Young
#3 Raiders (trade) - Stroud
#4 Colts - Levis
#5 Seahawks - Anderson YES BABY

Certainly possible. I like Levis the least of the four QBs, but there is a strong connection to the Seahawks that many people don't talk about.

Levis was very good in one season and not good in the other three. His best season was the year in which he played under Coen, the Rams coach who had gone down to Kentucky to be their OC. Then Coen went back to the Rams the following year and Levis was bad again. That is some evidence that he can operate the Rams system and be good in it.

That has to be a factor for Seattle at least somewhat given we're running a derivative of that system. Of course, being able to operate a rams derivative system at Kentucky is not at all the same thing as doing it in the NFL. Like others have suggested, I also don't think that Levis would make it by the Colts at #4 given their focus on size and arm strength.

Wow 3 quarterbacks will go before the Hawks pick at 5. Opens the door for either Anderson or Carter
I don’t believe Carter will be gone either way. Still could be suspended by the NFL for a part of the season.

Sorry, but I'm in the it's not a fleecing but a nice haul camp on the trade. If you get a franchise/star QB out of it by swapping two high first round picks, trading one first round pick, one second round pick, and really what amounts to an early 3rd round pick...that's just what it was going to take. Did anyone realistically expect anything less? It actually could have perhaps been even a little more, IMO.

As a Bears fan, I am satisfied with this deal, but actually preferred the original Colts deal that was mocked all over the place prior to the Carter arrest: First and second round in 2023 and 2024 plus Anderson or Carter.

Who knows what will be left on the board at #9? It is a pretty big drop.

Fans on the Bears forum are going nuts over DJ Moore. I think he is a good WR and an upgrade to Claypool, but something short of a true WR1 (ie., Jefferson, Adams, Diggs, Chase, Brown, Kupp, etc.).

I guess it is just a testament to how pitiful the Bears have been at the WR position for many year.

DJ Moore was good with Sam Darnold.

If Moore connects with Fields, they can be a good pair.

Crazy, how even good receivers need a rapport with a QB (Moore didn’t do well with any other Panthers QB) otherwise they cannot do well together.

Seems early for teams to have a #1 QB decided. My guess is that Carolina feels very comfortable with the QB class. They get a couple months to choose their #1 meaning there's a couple QBs that other teams will be happy drafting #2-#4, leaving Seattle with potentially the top choice at a non QB
