if true, glad that its the first game cuz it looks like the NFL wants it over and done with when they know Seahawks might not be a playoff team.

I will have my hand on the BUY NOW for tickets to New Orleans on the 9th once confirmed tonight. Best city I have ever been to for an away game by a mile.

I read this morning our schedule is ranked 11th toughest in the league. How does that effect your over/under assessment for our chances in the W column?
Not really. One of the most over-rated fake statistic is SOS before anybody plays a game.

Update: Week 1 vs Denver: Sounding more like this will the the 2nd game of a MNF doubleheader instead of SNF.

It’s a good intro for both the new Hawks and Russ. They can build it up as a must see hype game. That way if both teams suck they won’t lose viewers later.

IMO, NFL didn’t want the Broncos game to be in any type of bad weather.

But I’m fine with it. We can give the rest of the NFL the defensive blueprint on how to destroy a Russell Wilson led Broncos offense.

If they do want Denver as our home opener on week 1, this is the only prime time option that makes sense, as the Mariners have a game on Sunday at 1:00 which would butt up against a SNF game and I for one wouldn't want to have to deal with the amount of people and traffic having those games so close together would cause. Monday is an off day for the Mariners so they could slot us there quite easily.

If we don't get the Monday slot, then it's highly likely we'll be away week 1 and then have our home opener week 2, which happens quite often.

The way the Mariners are playing lately, if it continues, I doubt there will be many fans for the Mariners game. 😜

Because of the M's playing at home that weekend. I thought for sure the Seahawks would on the road in week 1. Week 1 games are crapshoots in a lot of cases, maybe the Seahawks can sneak out a win.

I'm seeing it reported that ABC will likely be hosting the Week 1 MNF game against the Broncos, is that right? I thought it was CBS / FOX for Sunday games, NBC for SNF and ESPN for MNF.

Has there been a change?

Don't think so.

Bob Candotta of Seattle Times is reporting ESPN will cover the Hawks/Broncos week 1 MNF game with Aikman and Buck.

According to the article I've linked here, Week 1 is going to be simulcast on ABC/ESPN and only be one game, while week 2 will get the double header this year. I cannot confirm that their facts are 100% accurate, but SI is a solid source IMO

From Pro Football Talk:

One of the most anticipated games of the year –Denver at Seattle — serves as the Week One Monday night contest, according to Vic Lombardi of Altitude Sports.

The league could have held that one for a much bigger audience, either in the late-afternoon window on CBS or FOX or a Sunday night on NBC. Chances are that this specific Week One game will be televised by ABC, not ESPN.

Regardless, it will be a memorable final act to the opening week of the season. And it will make the official start of his tenure with the Broncos memorable and emotional.
