Nick Foles > any Seahawk QB currently on the roster. Plus having him on the team means the Seahawks don't have to lose to him. He's 2-0 against the Seahawks in his career.

People acting like Foles is must get. The FO proved through the draft who the starter is this year. Lock is a Lock for 1st string.

How was that proved?
They had their chance to pick up a free agent, and said no. They had a couple chances at any QB in the draft and they said no.

They spoke loud and clear, Lock is our guy this season.

Lock isn't a lock. The 3 on the roster will compete (any doubt with a PC team?). This is what PC said Saturday:

"We're very talented," Carroll said. "In arm talent, the guys' ability to throw the football, that's not even a question. It's going to be system, it's going to be commanding the position to take care of our football team with the right mentality and the right conscience. That's where we have to see how far we can come. We don't have all of that nailed with Jake—he's been with us a short time—and we don't have that nailed with Drew at this point. We have a really good feel for where Geno is. But the way that we're going to format our football team is going to call for this position to really be on point to run the club with the big mind it takes to have a great conscience about great winning football. We're not worried about the talent at all, it's the process and seeing them grasp onto all of that that I'm really excited to see. Let the games begin, these guys are going to go at it, so it'll be great fun."

Foles is only good when you sign him as a back-up. Off the bench, 2013 and 2017 Foles was lightning in a bottle.

Foles is at his best when you need him off the bench for 3-4 games. He is not a starter. He is a gifted back up. I have no problem with him in the locker room competing. I would prefer Mayfield in the locker as he's got a bit more upside IMO. But I think it's competition time and no QB on the roster currently has the job won.

1. Baker
2. Foles
3. Geno
4. Lock

Just my opinion. I'd feel much better about the chances of having a surprising season with Mayfield or Foles.

All this being said I only think Baker is a couple of wins better than Geno, but a couple of wins can make a big difference.

Foles had one fairytale postseason run. Hasn't done anything before or after. Was close to retiring before it happened. No thanks.

I think the Hawks may be engaging in a game of chicken here with some other clubs. They know that Baker is eventually going to get cut so why give up any compensation for him plus he has that ridiculous salary. Jimmy G (gasp) might be another guy they are keeping an eye on.

How is he as a mentor? I could see him being a better backup than Geno, who is awful.

Nick Foles has a record of 29-27 in games he has started. So there is enough proof he would be an upgrade. His career QB rating is 87.3. Which is higher than Smith, Lock, and Eason. He's also had success in playoffs (2018).

He is savvy enough to beat the LOB when he was with Rams in 2015.

With that said, he's not the next coming of Joe Montana but since there is a QB competition happening, it wouldn't hurt to bring him into the mix.

Geno shouldn't be in the league let alone this team. Geno is not going to win games as a qb. What data can Pete and John point to that says otherwise? I can't understand their love for this guy. Didn't he just get arrested too? I don't get it. Drew is a far better qb and is a fantastic pick up. I don't understand why we didn't snag a qb in the draft and let them compete with Drew for a couple years. Seems like a great way to increase your odds of producing a productive qb. What is Geno's upside? What's his potential for growth? I say not much.

You know there's five more months between now and the beginning of the season, right? That's five months of player acquisition from places other than the draft.

It's not like there were any quarterbacks in this year's draft to bet the franchise on anyway.

For the record, I don't have a problem with rolling with Lock this year.

If that’s the case, we only win 4-5 games with Baker then. Because Geno is just good enough to not go 0-17.

I find Petes delusion on QB talent on our current roster annoying. How could he possibly believe that non sense? It really does seem like they are tanking this year but putting on an act. How do you not even use one of your seventh round picks on Carson Strong?

So you'd be happier if. . .what. . . ? They had over-drafted a QB that they and many others don't see being a quality starter? Overpaid for one of the possible QBs like Goropollo or Mayfield that still might come with less of a price tag?

You don't use your seventh round pick on carson strong when you already have a full QB room and just bringing in a late round rookie who wont help you for years makes zero sense.
