This has bugged me for years. Can someone tell my why that giant pre-snap step Manning takes on every play out of the shotgun isn't a false start? Am I missing something about what makes that legal? I mean, he clearly takes a half step towards the line of scrimmage on every shotgun snap before the ball is ever hiked.
