Ouch!

Could explain some of his problems this season but most likely will not preclude the team from moving on during the off-season. With the mixed messages behind the "Breathe" comments of Tomsula and the response by Kap of not knowing what the HC meant by that; the whole backstory has me wondering if this move was necessary or not.

Looks like this was a voluntary move by Kap:

Pulled a mallet? So your saying he found a doctor to completely compromise his ethics an just cut open a human being for the fun of it and to get off a roster? He's having surgery Tuesday for a severely torn Labrum

So he has a "severely torn labrum" but was listed as PROBABLE by the 49ers yesterday. Hmmm . . . :1:

There goes his HOF chances. :sarcasm_off:

What are you talking about? He'll have plenty of time to visit the HOF now.

Niners are gonna be on the hook for $17,000,000 next season with next to no return on investment.

Are you sure? I thought it was a team friendly contract?

The surgery actually helps the team. If he passes a team physical then he can be cut and not cost the 49ers another dime.

Honestly though... do feel a bit bad for him. He might not be the good Samaritan that Russ is, but he's not a terrible guy. He was a couple plays away from big career wins over a couple years and now he will be starting over...

He would have to recover prior to April 1st which I doubt will happen. Torn labrum surgery has a long recovery time and April is just over four months away.
