I'm not much of a football historian. Has a rookie ever played that well in the playoffs? Wilson was absolutely amazing.

I would say so, and arguably best rookie performance in any game anywhere ever.

Road game, 20 points down, 3 straight touchdowns.

You want to know his second half statline?

13-18 234 yards 2 touchdowns 1 interception, 25 yards rushing 1 touchdown

Had the defense held out or Atlanta had missed that kick he'd have had a 156.3 second half QB rating (he had to settle for a lousy 132.6)
On the road. In the playoffs. At the number 1 seed. 20 points down.

That would not just be the best rookie playoff performance ever, but one of the finest performances by ANY QB in playoff history.

How is this not impressive?

Did you honestly expect to go to the Superbowl with a ROOKIE QB?!?

What Wilson did was not just impressive, it was near incredible. One of the greatest comebacks in the playoffs I have ever seen, and I was at the Bills game where Reich came back against the Oilers. I suppose technically you cannot call it a comeback without the victory, but coming back from behind to leave 30 seconds left...nobody could pin that loss on Wilson.

This was a game that will help define the type of QB Wilson will be in the playoffs. This will pay dividends.

Because aside from last night's game, he plays like one.

But yes, I'd have to say so. Wilson shattered Sammy Baugh's record of passing yards that's stood since 1937, and erased a 20-point deficit to do it. And his one imperfect throw was a hail Mary pick, not exactly terrible throw or decision. He was as close to perfect as we could have expected.

Flacco had two playoff wins as a rookie didnt he? Could be wrong about that tho.

Yes, and he didn't complete more than 50% of his passes in either game.
