Would love to have him - but the Patriots just makes too much sense doesnt it?
One of my favorite WR prospects in the draft actually. He is really the type of player that we've been missing in this franchise since the departure of Tate. It might not bear fruit right away, like say a Nelson might -- but it definitely sets the Seahawks up for the long game. I would really like that move.chris98251":rv12cuie said:I would much rather take a shot at this kid Jalen Hurd, he is everything measurable wise we want and productive and that's changing positions, seems a bit of a Tate in a faster bigger body with more natural hands.
I'd rather let the young receiver get reps. A player such as Jalen can be used as a slasher sort of character and have immediate production in YAC, and on things like jet sweeps. He can also be used as a change up in the running game. Very versatile player. Moore also has a nice niche, he's very good at running go routes, and on those long developing plays. He can be used in his specialty -- him and Jalen can share reps, and cover each others blind spots. They're both similar body types, but have different skill sets. We already have two veterans present on this team in Doug Baldwin and Tyler Locket. A player like Nelson takes away from valuable game time, and reps from developing players. If we do have the intentions of drafting a wide receiver, id rather more repetitions for those that are going to advance the team in the long run. I really don't see a Jordy Nelson as a character that is going to put us over the top.jammerhawk":qljpoh1h said:How about both?
Nelson's addition would allow Brown to be released or traded now w/o the loss of a draft pick to partially offset the cost, and possibly give the addition of a late pick. Nelson certainly would be useful as another mature voice in the receivers room for the other younger players. Price and health are naturally critical to the decision.

For some reason I thought Moore was larger. He's around Kearse's size/body type.chris98251":1sligbmo said:Spin Doctor":1sligbmo said:I'd rather let the young receiver get reps. Jalen is like 3 inches taller from what I seen and probably 25 to 30 pounds bigger, Moore I think was 6"1 and 212 or so.
Moore plays larger, he can get up to a high point well and fight for a contested ball.Spin Doctor":byumv9k8 said:For some reason I thought Moore was larger. We have a young player to develop, Moore. People say they want to develop young talent but once the game starts, and the season is under way, we expect results.
I include myself among those people by the way. I try not to be a hypocrite. Take our O-line or RBs for example, Ifedi, Pocic, Penny early in the season. All young guys. But that didn't stop the criticism of Russell, Pete, or the offense. It didn't stop people from labeling Penny a bust early in the season. There are people even starting to question Tre Flowers and Shaquill Griffin already, in their 1st and 2nd years respectively. Some people are even saying Shaquem Griffin will never be good
So let's be honest with ourselves. NFL fan culture loves the draft, they love the process of analyzing future prospects and visualizing their success. But more 1st round picks, and NFL players in general flop or remain average more than they wow the league. Tate was called "pedestrian" before he grew, so was Baldwin. With Russ at QB, and Pete as our coach, expectations will be high. People are expecting playoffs. I am not willing to risk that with a WR prospect. Draft him, but sign Jordy and give us a security blanket. If Jalen becomes a stud, then I don't care if we paid Jordy. I'll be more pissed if we don't sign someone like Jordy and our WR # 3 slot is average at best.

I agree, they already have vets in Baldwin & Brown. Plus, Baldwin is our slot receiver, there's literally no need for Nelson. It would just be Brandon Marshall 2.0
If they get a receiver, it should be through the draft. I personally like Keesean Johnson from Fresno State.
