Does anyone know what the plans are? Weather should be good but it seems that the roof is always closed when we play there. Maybe Ringless can tell us???

It seemed to be in the High 40s in the morning when we played there in December. They had it closed for us then. So I think that will determine whether it will be open or closed. Check the Low temp over night.

University of Phoenix Stadium does not have a retractable roof. The playing surface is natural grass, and is grown in an ingenious way. The entire surface rolls out of the building and into the sunshine.

The stadium does have a retractable roof, and real grass that is grown outdoors and brought inside for games.

You can get stadium information here:

The answer hasn't been decided yet. It looks like they want to keep it open, but will make the final call when they have a good idea about the weather.

At this point, the NFL says it plans to keep the retractable roof open at University of Phoenix Stadium for the Feb. 1 game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, but the plan can change as the league gets a better read on the weather forecast for game night. If there is a sign of inclement weather, the roof will be shut.

Thanks. Looks like could be a chance it will be closed still. I hope so for the 12s at the game to allow volume 12! If Manning thought NY was loud I'd like to see what we could do at an indoor stadium.

Despite all of the retractable roof stadiums in the NFL, 2/3 of the games played in those stadiums have been with the roof closed.

I stand corrected. Damn, I've even been inside of that place and it doesn't look like the roof would retract.
