Wisconsin radio station bans Seattle music before Seahawks game

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - A Wisconsin radio station has slapped a ban on all music and bands from the Seattle area in the run-up to Sunday's NFC championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.

"Beginning Wednesday morning at 12 a.m. CT, the station's listeners will hear no Heart, no Nirvana, no Pearl Jam, no songs from any band that calls Seattle home," radio station 94.5 "The Lake" says in a posting on its website. The station's ban on Seattle music will continue until after the game.

According to the The Lake's website, the ban is needed to change the bad karma that has dogged the Packers in their previous games with the Seahawks in Seattle.

this is actually huge for Wisconsin. For anyone that has ever driven through there, the state has something like 900 channels across the dial, with an easy 80% of them playing nothing but 80s and 90s rock.

take Seattle music out of their lineup and its a steady cycle of Motley Crue and Poison

I didn't click on the link but are you sure this station isn't some talk radio or 24 hour sports/news station that never plays music anyway?

This is fun stuff. But if they really wanna put their money where their mouth is, NO COFFEE! That'll show us!!! OR no flying to seattle to attend on Boeing jets and most definitely no shopping at Costco to supply their tailgates!
