We had a running game, line was adequate, defense did their job the first half, we let up once again instead of keeping the pressure on, defense was put in deep protect, not quite a prevent but not really the aggressive mode. Then score got close and they tried to turn it up again with the protect defense still in effect.

This is on coaching trying to play it close and not to lose rather than putting pressure on.

We rush for 170 yards & we still lose the TOP battle almost 2 to 1.

I guess we need 500 yards on the ground to win that battle.

Yards are great, Penny was getting great chunk yard runs so it while it looks impressive it is not a solid indicator in this instance, not clock eating possession with points at the end especially the second half.

Maybe pansy set calling? Do you think you really should go zone against a 3rd string QB when you have the lead? It’s the same conservative approach. Instead of playing to win, they play to “keep it close”. Let Russ bail us out. Except, that has a shelf life.
