Sure. I won’t be passive anymore. This franchise and its fans live in years past and are now once again facing the stark reality of what poor decision making, bad play-calling, inept trying to be cute in the draft, asinine trades, too much power and control granted to one individual causes.

Dumb moves and blind support.

Now, don’t cry when this team hovers at 6-7 wins for the next five years.

Even if they kept Russell this was happening. This one definitely breaks my heart more then Russell but needed to be done. Hope he lands with a team that can challenge this year.

It sucks to see Bobby go but the writing has been on the wall for a while on this one.

I'm not following your intent here. Are you arguing that the decision to release Bobby Wagner is dumb? Or was this meant to go in the thread on trading Russ?

No one's trading for an aging LB who's cap hit is 20M.

Dunlap was released and re-signed. I wonder if there's a deal for Bobby and he's having a think and weighing up the options?

That isn't a real story about Dunlap, just a twitter post about last off-season.

How is cutting/trading players well past their prime being "stuck in the past"???

Sounds like forward thinking to me

I also challenge you to find an NFL franchise that doesnt have skeletons in their closets...

Your anger and angst seems a bit over the top honestly. Sports are supposed to be fun.

I responded, in this thread, that it sucks to release Wagner but was expected.

Ahh. My apologies. Maybe you’re right.

Btw…quite a few of us, including yourself, have a few posts on this board that can be considered over the top. I wouldn’t be too critical.

Wagner was due $16.6M. Either he accepted a big pay cut or the Seahawks were going to release him. These sort of moves always hurt. No-one likes to lose a RoH candidate over money.

For all the upset fans here, you really want to keep an aging Wilson and Wagner, whom, Wilson is expected to be paid big time and Wagner’s best days are behind him?

I don’t get why “sucking” is Seattle’s only option.

At some point if you hold onto aging players you are almost guaranteed to stay losing.

Football is always a young man’s game.

You need more young stars in their 20s than veteran guys in their 30s.

The churn needs to be ongoing.

Still a very sad day when a player of Bobby's caliber with the contributions he has made is released.

I think Wilson has plenty left in the tank.

Two major beefs I have are we made this move without a clear QB replacement in-place. Secondly, if the FO knew they were going this route, we should’ve took Chicago’s offer.

L after L after L adds up.
