This from a fan of a team that took 30 years to find a decent QB.

And coaches were fired for not finding a good QB and fielding a winning team.

All I'm asking for is a middling defense. Being in the lower half of the league for 8 years in a row sucks. I'm being a bit hyperbolic with firing Pete, because I love the guy. I think we will see an improvement this year.

But if not, how long should a coach be given to make an improvement on defense? 15 years? 20? If we keep sneaking into the playoffs and losing in the wild card or divisional round, then it would be a difficult decision to let Pete go, unless there's as close to a sure-fire coach we can hire to replace him.
