For the past 8 games, you have seen the defense give a huge space cushion to receivers and they have been getting gashed repeatedly.

Carroll needs to play press man to man bump and run to shorten throw windows and allow the defensive line to get coverage sacks and pressures.

I don’t know why Carroll has gone away from this.

It’s no secret, get in the receivers face and hands on them for as much as legally possible and the throws won’t be as easy to make.

This will help Seattle get more pressure and add to interception rates.

Carroll has just stopped doing this like he does not trust the secondary to play this effectively, but giving such a huge cushion is definitely adding to the defenses inability to stop offenses.

So do something different!

Play press man bump and run!

Jeez, it’s not that hard to switch things up!

Carroll's gone away from it because he doesn't trust his defensive backfield to stay on receivers long enough for his bad pass rush and blitzes to get home.....especially when it's no Griffin, a gimpy Dunbar and Flowers.

We saw it in the 2nd half Sunday, they did try to blitz and play more man. Allen, Diggs and Beasley still gashed us, or got key holding/contact penalties.

Believe me, Pete doesn't love playing soft zone, the dude practically invented the press cover 3 defense. But that takes a defensive backfield and good pass rush. So he's gone with far more zone hoping that Russell can just outscore the other team.

And when Russell plays out of his mind and we score 35-40 points? It works. When he doesn't? We're probably going to lose.

How bad are we to not have a capable plan B on defense when Shaquill Griffin is hurt.

That’s just sad.

Maybe Shaquill Griffin is the real defensive MVP of this team.

Jeez, we are horrible!

It really is that bad.

It's everything dude...............bad D-line, slow LB corp and terrible defensive backfield that can't cover, communicate or be where they're suppose to be in zone.

There's no easy fix for that. Play press, play zone, it doesn't matter.

This team will go as far as Russell takes us, that's it.

What’s really sad is, adding to our problems—we are low on draft picks, and very low on “high picks” for the next few years.

Not sure if Pete’s extension is more so a liability than hope for the future.

This defense is just sad.
