At the cost of millions though...

Maybe. With the reworked rookie contracts, he's guaranteed to lose hundreds, but on a perpetually-playoff-bound team for a whole contract, followed by another sweet contract once he's proved himself, he could stand to benefit by quite a large number of zeros when it's all said and done.

Not saying he's not just another stupid decision in a long line of stupid decisions in the NFL, but if that's the premise...
