Late in the 2013 season, the Seahawks offense was struggling. People were complaining about the offensive line and wide receivers (Sound familiar?). We couldn't do a whole lot at SF, or at home vs. AZ and lost both games. We did a little better at home vs. STL and won. When Percy Harvin came into the lineup against New Orleans in the divisional round of the playoffs he opened up the offense. There were larger holes for Marshawn Lynch. On Lynch's touchdown the safety chased Harvin instead of staying in the middle to defend Lynch. At halftime, prior to Percy's concussion, we were up 16-0. In the 2nd half without Harvin, we only scored 1 touchdown late in the 4th quarter.

Defense feeds off the offense. Offense feeds off the defense. Football is a game of momentum and energy. Of course, you could make a strong argument we would've beat Denver in the Super Bowl without Harvin. However, he clearly was a factor that Denver was not ready for. They had no idea that jet sweep was coming. Harvin had the longest run in that Super Bowl on that play. Harvin kept the Broncos on their heels and kept the momentum in our favor. And of course, he took the hearts out of the Broncos by beginning the 2nd half with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

So, while Percy Harvin's addition contributed to a lack of depth on our team and didn't pan out the way we wanted to, he did help us get to and win a Super Bowl in the 2013 season.
If the Hawks had gone out and gotten an AVERAGE WR instead of Harvin we would have gone 19-0. We don't lose a single game if we have an average WR instead of Harvin.

In what fairy-tale world does costing a team a 19-0 season = contributing?

Harvin is absolute garbage.

Harvin is absolute garbage.

To be fair we can't win with average WRs either, we just tried that and came up short.

We need stud recievers or weapons like gronk & Harvin. He WaS cut due to locker room drama, not his play. He may not be a WR,but he is a great move weapon that teams had to account for.

Hawks had Zero weapons in the pass game that teams had to account for right ?
So they loaded the box to stop lynch & Wilson.

Average don't win rings.
