On the bright side, it was the best game to lose.

Arizona lost a home conference game.
San Francisco lost a conference game.
We lost an away game to an out-of-conference team.

As far as playoff implications go, this was the best possible game to lose.

This was a terrible game to lose. It was a winnable game as Denver is not playoff material and we could have used an opening win for momentum.

And after 1 game, you never know, maybe Denver IS going to be better than people think. Happens all the time when people say a team will suck and they end up in the playoffs.

Based on how the offense was called last night, I suspect Denver has more playoff viability in Seattle. It was well called. The QB might or might not hold them back.

Denver has a pretty incredible record for home openers. I think they are now 29-4 for the first home game of the season with only 1 loss since 2000. That covers good years, down years, front office changes, coaching changes, QB changes, blah blah blah. The heat and the altitude combine to create a hostile environment in which to play, and the team that practices under those conditions all pre-season has a material advantage.

So while we find reasons to bash our team for an unsatisfying performance and write off the season, keep in mind that most teams going to Denver on opening day come back as losers.

True.

Sure there were a lot of things that didn't go well, but we weren't going to go undefeated anyway.

In essence, it was a 5th pre-season game.

Yes, superb and timely. Especially since Mora actually says,
"I'm just trying to win a game, another game".

Right now the Seahawks are just trying to win a game, ANY football game.
Let's go 1-0 this week.

We’ve lost to non playoff teams on the road, much worse teams mind you, during our run of dominance as well.

The Seahawks always have road letdowns. This is nothing new. Denver is probably an 8-10 win team too. Denver is also a great home team, always have been.
