I believe Okung has decided to represent himself in negotiations and is sans agent. I wonder whether this helps or hinders the chance of getting a good deal done?

It saves him money, and theoretically allows him to sign a contract that's a bit smaller since there's no commission.

I thought we'd be okay without Unger and Carp because of their injury history and was rewarded with this years crap OL.
One thing we now know with Cable, it can always be worse.
Must resign Okung.

This is a player not worth bringing back. 6 years is a good sample size to see Okung as a consistently injured, underperforming player. To expect those him to buck both those trends now, following the contract year is a bit unrealistic.

To resign him just because the LT is a need position, is the same as reaching in the draft for a player to fill an obvious hole, but at a much steeper price. It's better to move on and fill this spot with a draft pick or free agent.
