The kind of thing we'd hammer Kaepernick or Harbaugh for.

Or maybe now you realize how ridiculous you are for hammering them for it.

Ricardo Lockette spoke on Kaepernick's tendencies in a recent interview on 710. It's nothing complicated. He just doesn't like doing media interviews.

I don't hold it against him.

Lynch is just answering questions asked about himself and his thoughts; he's not discrediting an entire team like the Whiners do when they get beat.

As the NFL video showed, you do one thing to lose his trust and that's it, the door is closed. He must have experienced something that soured him toward the media and now he appears to lump them all together; even the friendly group he had in that room.

He was a ham in front of the mic a couple of years ago, so it would be interesting to find out what changed that for him.

Not at all. I think it's perfectly acceptable.

These players aren't just speaking to the press, they're speaking to the fans. 3-4 minutes out of their lives once a week (or in Lynch's case, once a year) is not a great deal to ask for. As I said in a previous post, I'd quite like to hear Lynch's take on the season and the playoffs.

And it's why I'm grateful that our quarterback and our Head Coach embrace the media and show it the upmost respect, unlike their counterparts in San Francisco.

I'm perfectly okay with a guy who prefers to let his play on the field speak for him, there's plenty of others who like to talk... some too much.

All I need to know about the guy: My cousin teaches at Marshawn's high school in Oakland. She's a specialist who got a job there teaching some of the worst of the worst at-risk kids, kids who literally could have a major melt down if she were to wear the wrong clothing item to school that day. Anyway she says that Marshawn is there as often as his schedule allows him to be back home in the area. (She told me at Thanksgiving he had just been there not too long before, I told her they'd just had their by-week.) She says he's there supporting and uplifting and encouraging the kids and doing what he can to show them there's some light at out there at the end of there tunnel. He makes it point to always visit her class even if he only has time to pop in and give her a big hug and thank her. My cousin's a young mid-westerner from Chicago area (Bears fan) and she thinks he's an absolutely fanstastic and very warm person for what he does for the kids there. Anyway, just a little tid-bit on Marshawn.

The media guy in the background with the tourrette's eyebrows really annoys me. Marshawn, not so much. Beast may not be giving the answers people want to hear and elaborating, but at least he's answering the questions. I'd imagine myself being similar. If you don't like his responses, suck it up. He's doing a media interview probably because he's forced to, not because he wants that spotlight on him. Of all the things to complain about, I'd think some of you would find something worth talking about....like that reporter's eyebrows.

Hah, Clare Farnsworth does have some crazy eyebrows going on there. Kind of looks like everyone was just leaving practice and Lynch got caught on the way out. He seems way more candid in one-on-one interviews or fun pieces like he did with Mayne. Lynch is just a dude that likes to keep it simple, like when Pete is trying to tell him how they want to run a play and Marshawn keeps saying "I'll just read it" over and over.

You can tell that he was uncomfortable and would rather be anywhere except right there.

Marshawn isn't a QB or HC and thus isn't representing the Seahawks from a position of default leadership. I really doubt any of us would give a damn if Frank Gore chose to be cold to the media.

How about Buffalo taking a dump on him, or how about after he got pulled over the media and a large part of this board dumped on him. I would say he has his reasons.

Exactly. It's not a matter of him being introverted or that he dislikes the limelight. He has said before that he went from golden boy to ridiculed chump, almost overnight in Buffalo, and knowing he would ultimately excel and again be a sought-out interview, as he is, he took the role of "you wanna diss me when I'm down, I won't give you sh*t when I'm up". I applaud his resolve and it was also the reason he wanted out of Buffalo (which he mistakenly thought was a section of NYC, lol).

Seriously, look at his body language -- all nervous and fidgety. He's not oozing smarmy contempt the way Coach Douche and Papaki do. He just looks like a guy who's alllll the way out of his element and really uncomfortable there. There's a big difference between not being very good at playing the interview game and going out of your way to be an ass, which is what Harbaugh and Papaki do and a big part of what makes them so loathsome.

Oh, no doubt. I'm not blaming the guy and was not aware if my post appeared to be doing that. I'm just trying to put on an investigator hat on to find the proverbial 'straw that broke the camel's back.' He was still OK with the media AFTER Buffalo. Then, sometime after arriving here, he stonewalled pretty much ALL media outlets including the Real Rob Report.

This. Looking at his body language, he has some serious anxiety going on. It's not rare at all: in the US, people have more fear of public speaking than dying. It's not the only guy: look at Ricky Williams. He'd do interviews with his helmet on. People ripped him for that because it was "odd" or "eccentric" but in reality he had a phobia about it. It's also why he smoked marijuana; it calmed him down but made him less drowsy than his prescription meds. Kaepernick also seems this way..it's why I've never ripped him on this board for being subdued or even acting surly to the press. Some guys just don't like it.

Lynch seems cut from the same cloth honestly. It's no big deal, no one is perfect.

I didn't see anything where he came off looking bad. Definitely a guy who is not comfortable in front of a media scrum like that. It also seemed to me like when he was being asked about the team's chances etc, he was being really careful not to say anything that could be used a bulletin board material.

thats dope! he seems like that kind of dude too...small circle, values loyalty, and knows exactly where he comes from. he answered as many worthless questions he could and said thanks bye. give him a break.

I agree with english. After watching that vid beast came off kind of bad..

How do you figure? It's pretty much the standard Lynch when talking to the media....withdrawn and quiet answering the questions asked. What's so "bad" about that?

Nothing bad about that! Not a cookie cutter interview. Refreshing. Answering the questions asked with no fluff. hmmm. who knew?!
