Eh, I personally think he's just an average linebacker. He's not a liability, but he's not a game changer either. He's definitely been a cut below KJ Wright and Wagner. I've never really seen game tilting plays from him like Wagner and KJ would regularly deliver.

Yet he somehow manages to make 1 or 2 big plays a game. As opposed to Brooks who just disappears. Even Taylor stood out today in 2 plays more than Brooks did all game.

Brooks is a 4-3 early down LBer. Asking him to be more than that is going to get your defense torched. He is miscast.

He'd be a pretty good Sam w/Wagner and Wright types at Mike and Will.

It was frustrating to watch how many third level tackles we made yesterday.

NFL is the worst sport for stats.

You can lead the league in tackles and be an average player. Similar, you can have a 70% completion rate and just check down all game.

People were saying exactly the same things about Bobby Wagner last year of him racking up tackles but not making "impact plays". It's because the problem is still the same, they need talent on the defensive line...
