Irvin is really, REALLY underrated....

I don't think much of Irvin as a straignt up DE. I think a ton of him as an in space athlete, and vs less than physical offensive tackles.

I disagree and ask how so? He's great in coverage, he sets the edge, gets pressure when asked. What say you, sweetie?
Go look at his numbers. against KC and the Faders he had a grand total of 2 tackles combined.
His job is to funnel plays inside, most of the time. Then drop into coverage. If he does that well, guess what? No tackles or mentions. If he didn't do those things, it'd be pretty apparent.
He has exactly one pass defended all year. It was a pick, but still. If your point is that he drops into coverage and makes plays, well, not so much.

I've been saying that all this year. I've been watching him closely this season. He came a long way.

Yeah. I'd also like him to maybe slide inside at times in the nickel. He could cover up that middle zone and/or blitz from that MLB position. I like him rushing the passer standing up, ALOT.

Or, he's doing a good job in coverage so the QB doesn't go his way. I mean, should we just assume whomever has the most INT's every week is the best DB in the NFL that week?

Mebane doesn't have good numbers either. Does he suck?

Irvin is developing into a complete player. When we got him I thought he would just be a pass ruh specialist. Then the transition last year to Strong side LB was a slow transition. But now you can see the talent coming together. The important thing is he still has tremendous upside. This is a kid that was never truly coached as. LB or a DE. He had raw talent at West Virginia. So the coaches are bringing him around slowly and letting him develop. I'm glad they didn't give up n him and think he was a first round bust like so many others.

Glad he has reached another level this year. He is becoming a much more complete football player.

No, we should've cut him when the most folks were dissatisfied with his play.

Then we could all bitch when he played well for another team. It would be Irvin's fault, of course, for not trying to play hard and just taking Seattle's money.

The quote above says it very well. I look forward to watch him continue to improve and really help this team.

He stood out today a lot...and it was because he was a boss out there. Love what I've been seeing from him lately

All Irvin has ever done in Seattle is work his ass off and make steady progress. It's so great seeing him play solid when defending running plays instead of getting abused like he did his rookie year.

This is one PC reclamation project that is paying off big-time. (Unlike another project named Harvin)
