Yeah, sure. Let's trade our budding star WR still on his rookie contract for a old expensive vet on his last legs.

Great idea. :34853_doh:

If Russ stays and DK gets traded, we can assume some issue between the two. I don't believe it as DK idolizes Russell.

He's a hothead and pouts when he doesnt get the ball. Russell forces the ball to him. Trade him for draft capital.

I doubt it. Russ and DK seem fine to me.

I like DKs attitude. If he can keep it and manage to not get penalized, I’m all for it.

But….there’s always a but….who really knows? It doesn’t make sense to me that we’d trade him now.

DK is like a little bro to Russ, even taught DK how to swim, ain't nothing to see here folks. Unless Russ stays and DK got traded, then you guys can speculate as you like, otherwise these two are like bros.

If someone makes us an unbelievable offer for him that Pete thinks will improve the team... sure.
Say if SF offered to trade us Armstead and Bosa for him, I'd take it.

Well that's a bit ago - it didn't seem very 'bro' ish when DK was shooting daggers to Russ on the field after getting targeted like 2 times per game - and Russ looking back going "ya ya ya, I see you. I see you".

I know they bonded at the beginning - but money talks.

I don't think DK is getting traded. He's still got a bit of time to put in, and numbers to make.

I'd either extend him soon, or trade him soon if you're not going to extend him.

DaVante is going to re-set the WR market. Waiting until after he signs is a bad idea.

I'm assuming that it's just an educated guess.

DK is definitely a trade candidate. Lockett is already being paid handsomely, and Russell has one of the highest cap hits in the league. If someone offers you two good picks for DK prior to him asking for something stupid like 25 per, I don't know why you wouldn't take it.

It's sad, but it's the type of sacrifice that's gotta be made sometimes.

It would be terminally stupid.

How long has this team been looking for a #1 now?

Tyler isn't a 1.

Now we have one we want to lose him? Why?

Because Tyler? We don't realize that without DK they can just bracket Tyler to make it harder on him>?

Hoping this is a stupid rumor.

I'm sure you'd be the first to complain about having no money for the rest of the roster when 40% of the salary cap is tied into a quarterback and two receivers, as well.

The new rumor is the Hawks trade the whole team for Ohio State. Good lord, I don't know who is worse the media or some fans who think everything said by media is a fact. It's not it's all meant to get clicks. Unless there is a direct quote from a player or member of the staff its all BS.

That is a hilariously uninformed statement Maelstrom, even for you.

I don't complain about the cap hits from guys that make a difference.

My concern is how much we blow spending it on JAGs and aging garbage.

Guys like Lacey come to mind. That DL from SF. etc.

You pay your field tilters. Or you have nobody to tilt the field for you.

It's not necessarily a statement on you, so much as it is about how untenable the situation could quickly become if DK wants as big of a contract as I think he will.

I'm a huge DK fan, but would I take 2 firsts for him before having to give him a huuuge extension? I would, and I think that's just the way it has to be with a very expensive signal caller.
