I'm rooting for Pryor but I hope he does well on practice squad or with another team. TJack is a much better option in the near term and 2015-2016 can sort itself out after this season. SiriusNFL has been talking up all of the mobile QBs coming out next year and we could probably spend a 3rd or 4th on someone like Fajardo, Petty or Keeton (preferably Fajardo).

This has been mentioned before but TP is not eligable for the PS. He is either making the roster or getting cut. My thoughts are he is cut after how he looked against Chicago. He would be interesting to hold onto year 1 or year 2 in the rebuild, but we have championship aspirations now. We need every roster for guys ready to play and TP isn't ready to play yet.

There are new practice squad rules this year. In addition to expanding the PS to ten players, each team will be permitted to sign a maximum of two PS players who have earned no more than two accrued seasons of free agency credit. Pryor has no more than two accrued seasons, so he could potentially be one of the Seahawks' two exceptions for the practice squad if he cleared waivers.

I'm failry certain TP is not eligable for the PS still. As another poster pointed out, hes been in the league for 3 years. Thats 3 FA periods, not 2. He makes the team or is getting cut. Plain and simple.

Locks are basically Sherman, Maxwell, Lane and Simon.

If Simon ends up being any good, then that's a solid top 4. CB5 is pure depth. Looks like a battle between Auguste/Adams right now.

Lane is beasting. Simon looks real good. If we can avoid the injury bug at CB, we are sitting nice right there.

For comparison to last year at 53 man cutdown:

Starters: RCB Brandon Browner, LCB Richard Sherman, SS Kam Chancellor, FS Earl Thomas
Backups: CB Walter Thurmond, CB Jeremy Lane, CB Byron Maxwell, FS Chris Maragos, SS Jeron Johnson
Contract terminated: Antoine Winfield
Waived: CB Ron Parker, SS Winston Guy, FS/CB DeShawn Shead

On the ST team captain note, I think it was a fair assumption that Farwell was going to be an odd man out with or without the injury.

To answer the question, Jeron Johnson. I think he's the most obvious choice.

Dib has a point, there's no fear of Pryor on the Rams, our D contains Kaepernick very well and Pryor isn't nearly as dangerous. Or hasn't shown himself to be in his career so far.

The Hawks didn't lose much in this round of cuts. Mostly injured players who weren't playing. There likely won't be any effect on practice and they weren't dressing 90 players each game either.
