There was a clip ( I'm not tech savvy enough or willing to put forth the effort) where Seattle was driving to take the lead again, maybe mid 3rd quarter?, where the camera panned to Michael on the sidelines talking to either Rawls or some other players out of uniform where he just looked dumbfounded and shocked and shrugged his shoulders. I remember thinking he's done but I'm not that smart...
Yes, it was a telling clip, made an impression on me too.

File this under More To The Story.

There's got to be behind-the-scenes stuff at play here. Especially to keep Collins over Michael who has played admirably and much improved for us this season...

C-Mike probably was pouting / reacting negatively to being benched for Prosise. Maybe started falling back into some old habits. So instead of dealing with the headache of keeping him around they cut him.

Not surprised. If you listened to the players and coaches talk about Prosise after the NE game, one could read in between the lines as some of those guys taking shots at Michael in comparison to Prosise.

Rap is wrong.
If it was just a football decision they would just make C-Mike or Collins inactive. Rawls isn't coming off IR.

No, but Morgan (iirc) is about to [he's on his league mandated two week warm-up for reactivation], and that means the Seahawks will need a roster spot sooner rather than later.

He could still be wrong, but he wasn't waived to make room for Rawls, he was waived to make room for a DT we signed. We didn't need the extra RB on the roster as much as the extra DT. There may well have been other reasons behind it, and we can speculate forever, but we will likely never hear about it publicly.

Practice fodder until Morgan (iirc) comes back from IR.

depth security until Bennett is ready to return which should (coincidentally) be around the same time as Morgan's return

This is not surprising to me at all. Prosise is better, Rawls coming back....though I probly would have cut Collins instead. Maybe he will go to and we can bring up Pope.

1) Surprised we couldn't get a 7th rounder

2) Do we want to keep games close so Michael not fumbling but Collins fumbling is what made us cut Michael so we can ensure games are close in the 4th quarter?...............

Surprised

Trade deadline is long passed.

See that is how shocked I was by this move - I can't even think straight!!!

Thanks!

True. But C-Mike currently is 3rd in the pecking order, yet still was cut instead of Collins. It's not hard to read between the lines here. C-Mike was on pace for a 1,000 yds rushing. You don't cut him unless there is some "other" problems as well besides football/strategy reasons.

Michael has had me screaming at my TV as of late (not fighting for yards, diving before getting the 1st, etc.); I'm oddly okay with this.

After watching him play on the field this season I'm not surprised. C-Mike was just not special. Serviceable? I'd even debate that.

HA! Thought I was losing it as I couldn't find this thread. Geez Okie.

Hmm, I suppose I should add some content. I am surprised. I like Michael's story and hoped he'd fulfill the promise. As I watched the NE game it looked like every time Cmike ran there was no whole, nowhere to go, and I wondered if it was just the luck of the draw or Cmike missing what was there. Guess it was Cmike. Too bad. I will still root for him. He has talent, but seems unable to tap it.

Regarding keeping Collins over CMike: don't overthink it. CMike has exhausted his nine lives over three years in the league. We've seen his ceiling, while Collins may still have upside. When talking about a 3rd string back, you gamble on the unknown commodity. Simple as that.

There are usually multiple reasons for a cut like this, but we rarely hear about the off field stuff unless it was already known to the public.

Also, just an FYI, CM makes about 230k more than AC this season, so there's the extra cap money which they had to use some of to sign the DT.
