Ok thanks bro

But I’m still not getting it.

When you order one of the new/current throwbacks, do you have the option to select the style/configuration of the face mask?

“To answer your question Lon, that face guard configuration was the only one available that I saw. As more time passes I am sure more will be offered.”

For my fellow helmetphiles...

I recently splurged (early bday/xmas gift to myself) and picked up an authentic Seahawks throwback Speedflex helmet. I added an Oakley face shield to it (the locking pieces are currently being painted royal blue as they came black, I'll post the final photo later). The only thing I need to add is a larger font "Seahawks" for the front lip (for some reason it came smaller than it should be), the American flag and league shield decals for the back, which I already ordered.

Now I just need that elusive man cave to display my helmets year-round!

Dumb question. Do they have some weight to them, are they heavy. I've never held a authentic NFL helmet before and always wondered if they are heavy.

Not a dumb question at all. They do have some weight to them. They weigh between 4.5 and 4.75 pounds. Not terribly heavy to pick up but to put on your head and play 60 minutes of football I would think would be somewhat challenging but football players obviously get used to it.

Time to take my laptop and lotion with these helmet pics into the bathroom, lock the door, turn on the fan, close the blinds, and tell my wife I'm having some "stomach problems" and might be a minute.

Do you have any other helmets? If you do can you post a pic of your collection that would be awesome. I only have one helmet and i think it would be a perfect pair with it.

At the moment I only have this one and the current authentic blue helmet...

Myhelmet5

Years ago I had the Gun Metal 2000's version, the original throwback (had tons of cool autographs on that one) and a custom built silver helmet with the 2000's logo on it (with Shaun Alexander's sig). Sold them all to a fan who lived in Hawaii.

More helmetphile porn...

Now that I have my spiffy new authentic throwback speedflex, I thought it was time to update my authentic revolution. So I added a new Oakley prism gridiron visor (the neon green decals where the "O" logo is are coming today) and updated the "SEAHAWKS" front lip logo and "S E A T T L E" back lip logo to the current 3D font that players wear these days...

Awesome helmet!! Lucky enough to have my man cave for a while. Wife is from a long time Niner family. Me, became a Seahawk fan in 1976. Our man cave is like football/ hockey place!

Ah man, you're living the dream! I can only hope to one day have a Man Cave similar to that. Good on ya for making sure the Seahawks helmet is displayed above the 9ers helmet, lol!
