With the Cubs victory in the World Series, the Cardinals now have the longest championship drought in North American professional sports, about 10 months longer than the Cleveland Indians. They last won a championship (amusingly, as the Chicago Cardinals) on December 28, 1947, nearly 69 years ago. Keep up the good work, Ol' Hot Dog Neck!

Having won one more than 40 years ago is better than never having one a championship, ever, regardless of how long the team has been around, IMO.
