There you go!Maybe wait to see what he does as a Seahawk...I don't know.
It's hard to judge players from $#!+ organizations (DC, CHI, NY x2, JAX, AZ, CLE, etc.).

Not all back-up are QBOTF. The likes of Trubisky, Wentz and Flaco are not QBOTFs but they are backups, most but not all QBOTF are back-ups, it is quite likely thart Tyrod Tailor is the Jets back-up next season but Jordan Travis also makes the cut as 3rd string QB and QBOTF.Until proven otherwise, Howell is the QBOTF. How does that work? Assuming that Geno wins the starting spot, then Howell becomes the backup and is by default the QBOTF. He most likely doesn’t see the field unless Geno gets hurt or stinks the place up. If he does end up playing in a game or few, then the moniker of QBOTF has been proven as true. It means that he is playing QB for the Seahawks and it’s in the future. He is no longer the future but rather the present. How long he maintains that position is clearly dependent on his level of play.
They have Howell under contract for two years. Cheap! We have a brand new coaching staff. The only thing Geno has over Howell is experience. Geno carries over no favoritism from the previous staff. The new staff knows each of them equally well. I see it as an open competition with Geno the slight favorite.
Next year if Geno is gone and Howell is the starter then a new guy will become the QBOTF.
I’m really starting to hate that whole QBOTF future sh it. Can we just go back to backup QB please? Isn’t it kind of assumed that the backup is the future guy, if not by talent but by availability?
It’s not difficult. It’s starter. It’s backup.
Mariotta has more of a similar skill set to Daniels than Howell does. Plus mariotta has been around and would be a much better teacher than a 2 year player. There is potential for friction with a 2nd year guy and drafting a guy. Could split the locker room because a lot of guys seemed to like and back Howell.Just doesn't seem to make any sense. Washington gave Mariota 2 more million than Howell would have cost and they valued a 3rd round pick more than his services. Something doesn't seem right. Why was Washington looking to draft a QB if Howell is so good anyways?
I get the new regime stuff, but seriously, we have one franchise that got rid of him for peanuts and another claiming he's going to play a big role for them in the future. I'm not buying what JS is selling on this one.
Quinn was holding the #2 pick in a draft rich with QB prospects, so he wanted his guy. He also needed to rebuild a depleted roster.I understand what your saying, but there's people here throwing out all these stats and numbers in some kind of an attempt to sell him and if those numbers told the real story, don't you think he'd be retained and worth more than a 3rd round pick? All i'm saying is not to be fooled with what we got just because he's a Seahawk.
You keep arguing from what Washington decided not to do with him. Need I remind you that their entire coaching staff and management staff, the ones responsible for how Howell was used during his time there, were shitcanned? New coaches, new management, new direction... new QB. This isn't rocket surgery.I understand what your saying, but there's people here throwing out all these stats and numbers in some kind of an attempt to sell him and if those numbers told the real story, don't you think he'd be retained and worth more than a 3rd round pick? It can be argued Bradshaw was never super good.QB's that were terrible their rookie/1st season.
Brett Favre
Steve Young
Alex Smith
Jared Goff
Troy Aikman
Peyton Manning
Terry Bradshaw
This sounds like how it realistically went down, Harris made a command decision. The fan base and from what I hear the front office were both 50/50 on whether to draft a new QB and build around him or draft a new QB. The rumor is the new owner wanted a new QB and he signs the checks it is being talked about Josh Harris is not popular on how he does things. When it is all said and done could he be worse than Dan Snyder?
Vegas odds for Washington total wins is 6.5This sounds like how it realistically went down, Harris made a command decision.
Like someone else said, gives them 5 years of team control vs 2 years with Howell, plus sells more tickets & jerseys.
I'm sure Quinn & Kingsbury will put Daniels in better situation than Rivera/Bieniemy did Howell. But I don't think this will be a fun rookie season for Jayden Daniels as there are not enough pieces around him & won't be for some time.
Another voice of reason.I understand what your saying, but there's people here throwing out all these stats and numbers in some kind of an attempt to sell him and if those numbers told the real story, don't you think he'd be retained and worth more than a 3rd round pick? True, and they could have just kept him as the backup instead of bringing in Mariota. They’d rather have a low round draft pick than use him as their backup.Yes, they got rid of what a lot of Seattles fanbase considers the QBotF for a hill of beans and to make room for an unproven rookie. They know what they had.
“Through 7 games” lol
I agree. I think the odds of success are better with this kind of guy.It would be fine with me if we never draft a QB, and instead get ones like this that are game-tested.
Easy big Mike it's the offseason. Besides you seem like a fantasy football guy, I thought you'd like that.“Through 7 games” lol
”after week 12“ LOL
”MORE FANTASY POINTS” RrrrrOoooFffffffLlllllk!!!!
cherry picking again lol just go away
No. Washington is doing everything they can do to have Daniel’s be successful and keeping a young QB there who used to have the job isn’t good just like the Bears didn’t retain Fields. Washington got a veteran QB who is ok with playing a player/coach roleTrue, and they could have just kept him as the backup instead of bringing in Mariota. They’d rather have a low round draft pick than use him as their backup.
Never have. NBA 20 years ago once and that’s it.Easy big Mike it's the offseason. Besides you seem like a fantasy football guy, I thought you'd like that.
