Also, Travis Homer passed his physical and is practicing. I'm a little surprised, I thought this late in the game they'd stash him on PUP to start the year.

So, for the first time in a while, no players starting the year on PUP or NFI.

Thanks guys!!! Curious about RB - Homer as that appeared to be a likely roster move to protect depth.

Updated.

Here's a draft profile for CB- John Reid:

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/john-reid ... 82f72e04e5

Here's a WIKI on him as well:

EDIT:

Seahawks transactions page recorded the following when Luke Wilson was signed:

https://www.seahawks.com/team/transactions/

08/24. Released CB Pierre Desir and DE Alex Tchangam. Signed TE Luke Willson.

Reid was drafted in 2020 and Houston will now eat his guaranteed portion of his deal. He is under his rookie contract through 2023. Cap charge for the team is $780,000. Likely he’s a cap neutral addition.

John Ursua had a "split" contract, so while he's on IR his salary is $440,000 instead of the normal $780,000 min for a 1 year vet.

This has been out for a couple of days but I thought it was not important enough to mention...clearly everyone else felt the same.

DE Alex Tchangam has been waved.

Thanks OK and Spohawks!!!

Updated now on Bunting and can see that although I had previously updated the OP on DE- Alex Tchangam and CB- Desir I did not note a source that indicated he'd been waived/released in the body of the thread.

EDIT:

I have now included a team transaction report showing the transaction where Tchangam and Desir were both waived/released and Willson was signed.

A very busy roster period will commence after tonight's game against the Chargers.

The team will have until 4 p.m. on August 31 to reduce the 81 men on the present roster to 53 official players. The team has one exempt player being International Development Program player OLB- Aaron Donkor who simply doesn't count against the roster or PS limits. There will follow a 24 hour waiver claims period until September 1st at 4 p.m. when the team can begin to name it's 16 man Practice Squad of which 6 players can be veterans. Minimally there will be 43 roster moves which could involve cuts, waivers, IR designations, trades & waiver claims to get 53 or cut down and to sign the PS.

Other FA players could be added like Geno Atkins or KJ Wright, or ???. These players may be added after the official season begins on September 9th to avoid their veteran contracts being guaranteed for the season, so the real roster move numbers could be higher. Historically JS is very busy during the period of the season as the players released to the market offer opportunities for improvement of depth areas perceived as being weak by the team. The team

Announcing the PS is a time where there is much misinformation from the media as they get the news wrong and there will be a deliberate delay by me to slow play the updates to the PS until the announcement are confirmed or become official. Even then JS can add and then release a PS player in very short order and players who made the initial 53 or the 1st announced PS could be released for one reason or another and others added.

We will do our best to get the moves right and post them in a timely fashion but some delay will be anticipated to prevent additional work. The regulars here are exceptional at getting the roster changes right but even than it can be easy to make a mistake based upon wrong information for usually reliable sources. I ask for the site's patience in order for us to get this right.

Additionally finally there may be a team Depth Chart finally published at .Com. This DC really doesn't mean much as that depth chart is very fungible as the team deals with injuries, needed roster changes and changes will need to be made to OP as information is received. I am curious as to where the team sees various players to be at present but once again I'm sure this is much more than a momentary snapshot of the official perception of depth positionally by the coaching staff.

Informative post! I am so pumped for the minimum 43 moves in 3 day circus we are about to go through. I think its bigger than draft weekend.

Lets start it off with a win over the Colts, then kick back and watch the fireworks!

I added up all the playtime stats for the 3 pre-season games and Josh Moon played more snaps than anyone else (by a pretty good margin). I think he makes the final roster.

That is an interesting observation but Blair has been slow to practice and Diggs has been held out and is ‘holding in’ so Moon’s playing time has been increased. You could be right though and that would give the team 5 Safeties to start the seaso n.
