At least Wilson's QBR was higher than Palmer's. What a terrible performance by both quarterbacks. The fact their ratings are so close and Palmer threw 4 picks just illustrates how bad Wilson was.

Really important that Bevell calls some plays early to give Wilson some confidence in the first quarter. Get Miller and Willson the ball more. Also Golden Tate with only two completions is just a freakin' joke. Watch the dude return punts, he needs to touch the ball more. Give him a reverse, couple bubble screens, get Tate involved...

Well, Carson was flat out money on that last possesion. So, as bad as he WAS, he stepped it up in the clutch. That throw for the TD couldn't have been thrown better, and the catch was incredible.
Sucks, but it's the way it is.

The play that made me grit my teeth was that 3rd down at the goal line when the cardinal got a straight shot at Russ.

GRRRR...still gritting :p

Go back and watch Wilson's accuracy on the first two possessions of every game this year.

Here is a hint: lol.

Oh and keep your eyes towards the sky lol

This game will build more character for this entire team. Essentially, it is a wake-up call before the big tournament in Jan. Both of those defenses are among the best in the NFL. I was very proud of Seattle's yesterday.

Tough loss...but I am over it.

Recievers dropping balls all day. BLockers missing assignments all day. Offensive linemen standing around basically looking lost while plays were still live.

If you want to talk about Wilson's performance, lets start with those areas. Quarterbacks get way too much credit when things go right, and way way WAY too much credit when thing's go wrong.

I still can't believe he was able to scramble away from the pressure and flip a pass to Jake Ballard. That was a HUGE play in the game right there.

Just wasn't our day, no matter how you slice it

Its not about confidence it is play calling period.

Example first series yesterday

run, scramble, deep pass, deep pass. 0-2 on passes both deep

So in 5 plays they ran it once, RW had to scramble once, and they called 2 long pass plays.

2nd possession

run, run, deep pass 0-1 on passes

so again 2 runs and a deeps pass

So in the first 2 drives they called no short passes, not quick hitters, no screens, just long passes.

in the NY game

first series run, pass deep, run, run, pass he was 2-2 on those passes
2nd series pass, pass, scramble, pass he was 2-3 on those

Notice in this game in the 1st 2 series only 1 long pass, and Rw was 4-5

SF Game
1st series pass, run, run, sack 1-1
2nd series pass, run, pass, sack, deep pass 1-3

so he is 2-4 in 1st 2 series

notice the patter so far, to many deep passes in the first 2 drives with no time to get into a rhythm.

Lets go one more to NO
1st series run, pass, scramble, pass, run, run, scramble, run, pass, pass he was 3-4 on this drive
2nd series pass, pass, pass deep, run, run, pass he was 3-4 here

so against Az he was 0-3 all deep passes
against NY he was 4-5 no deep passes
against SF he was 2-4 1 deep pass
and NO 6-8 and 1 deep pass

Hmm pattern

Yep, you have to set up the deep pass. Just bizarre play-calling. It's hard to resist thinking they were holding back on play-calling because the alternative is that the game plan/play calling was just that brain dead.

I agree that the deep passes need to not be so frequent. Sometimes it seems we live or die with those. Iirc, it was after a good return by Tate where we got on their side of the field. So what does Bevell call? A deep pass down the middle... Miss! Then a run that was stuffed followed by another deep pass.. Then a punt.. From their side of the field. That's all Bevell. Last year there were way too many same thing. It's just last year tate was making all those catches.

Listen up Bevell, we don't need 30-50 yard plays all the time. 3-5 yard runs and 6-10 yard passes work great with the players we have. They can make some people miss and get yards after contact.
