If Payne doesn’t re-sign with Washington I am expecting that the Bears would out bid anybody else. Hopefully I am wrong

I think the Seahawks would have to have one of the best three offers for Payne. Then he can decide if money is the most important...then the Bears. Or if a little less money and wins...then Seahawks.

Payne would be great. Wonder what salary it would take? 15-18 /yr? If so, then probably couldnt sign Geno. We need youth and energy on DL.

I'm okay with not signing Geno the way he performed towards the end of the season.

I am normally a proponent of signing veteran offensive players and drafting young hungry defensive players. But we are so old on the d-line with no legit veteran. Payne is only 25 years old and has a lot of experience. I would make him our #1 priority FA target.
