Seems reasonable to start Lock next week from what we can see in-game. What we can't see is if the playbook was constrained with Lock in. PC said during camp that Geno was in the #1 spot because he had been working with the entire playbook and Lock was working with only a partial fraction of the O. Geno, against the Pitt #1s, with the responsibility of using the entire playbook and relevant adjustments V Lock, against Pitt's #2s, without the responsibility to adjust and use the entire playbook...could mean Geno is still #1. It'll be much more apparent in 7, and even more so in 14, days.

A lesson in patience.... Perhaps concluding that the team is destined to be the worst team in the league after the first 10 minutes of pre-season #1 could be that lesson. Waiting and watching might produce a clear QB winner or more surprises. Fun to watch pre-season? ...liking it.

No surprise with what we have seen from Geno and Lock so far. Geno clearly has a full understanding of the offense while Lock is still learning. But Lock has shown a lot of upside with moving the ball downfield.

It's interesting that heading out of training camp the observations were that Geno was performing best inside the pocket and it was Lock working best outside of the pocket on the move. The first preseason game was exact opposite. Drew looked strong in the pocket and Geno was doing his best RW impersonation.

Lock looked a little more decisive with the ball today. I liked when he audibled at the line and it turned into a nice DJ Dallas run. The horrid overthrow in the 4th didn't look good though. The sack fumble wasn't his fault unless he was supposed to assign protection. Not sure what Forcythe saw on that one.

Both Geno and Lock can make plays outside of the pocket. But the QB that shows the most composure when under pressure in the pocket may end up winning the job IMO. Geno moves his feet ready to launch the ball while Lock stands tall in the pocket. Lock's footwork looks a lot better but when under pressure that could break down. And Geno does have a habit of bailing too quickly if under pressure.

Will be watching the next couple preseason games to see if Lock grabs the reins like they belong to him, and if he does, the job is his. For the 2022 season, at least.

Both seem timid to a degree but for different reasons.

Geno seems timid because he doesn't want to blow this opportunity.

Lock seems timid because he isn't 100% sure of himself. Seems like self-doubt.

Of the two, Lock has a future that Geno doesn't possess.

Mafe provided a great chance to win, and I was hoping to kill most of the 1:17 by running into a 3 point try for Myers.

As long as Geno finds a way to not turn the ball over throughout the preseason no matter how anemic it will look at times, Pete will go with Geno. It's all about the ball. Pete really believes that. Drew killed himself with that turnover.

Both players played as advertised, which is bad. Drew Lock needed to show he was no longer inconsistent, and he couldn't even do that against 3rd stringers.

Pete really believes he can win games in the modern NFL running the ball and playing defense. You need a playmaker at QB since 2003 and beyond. Drew Lock is a playmaker, but he will also make plays for the other team as well.

Taking a shot with Lock is the right call, as he at least has potential. If he crashes and burns, you get a top pick. If the light bulb comes on, how ever slim of a chance it is, you now have something at QB, it's a win, win. But the coach is probably going to go with Geno for the fewer turnovers.

It doesn't really matter in the end, we're splitting hairs about who is the prettiest between two fat, ugly chicks.

A young Charlie Whitehurst vs. a poorman's, washed up TJack. It doesn't matter. The Seahawks are not going anywhere with either one of them.

5 wins was my prediction back when the schedule came out. Tonight did nothing to persuade me to think otherwise. If anything I might've aimed a little high.

I love your rosy, optimistic predictions and positive takes (Ha!) Seriously, I enjoy your negativity; you're like the little red devil whispering nasty negatives in one ear while Jiminy Cricket whispers platitudes and flattery in the other ear. Often you start making more sense than Jiminy, because, at times, he's just too positive, too Pollyanna-ish to be taken seriously. You're the guy I want to listen to before I invest money, to see if I've thought it through or I'm about to make a horrible screwup by being overly optimistic.

I do see it very differently on your comparison of Drew Lock to a young Clipboard Jesus. He's showing way better than CBJ at this point. Comparing Geno to an older TJack seemed spot-on though. Maybe if Lock can lose a few pounds and learn some makeup artist skills you'd find him more attractive?

Yeah, I was hoping for a few more running plays mixed with safe, short passes. Just a few more cuts and let them bleed out gradually, rather than trying to slash the jugular with one big play, Hero Ball. Major backfire. Worst case is Myers misses a longie at the final whistle and we get out with a tie.
