When a couple of defenders can get under the pad level of a lineman lifting and driving him back into the legs of a team mate, somebody can get hurt. I would think Charles Cross will feel really bad about it come Monday's film review.

If Zabel is out for the season, I…

I’ll hold my tongue (fingers).

No bueno. He’s the best linemen we have..and is the best/near the top across the league in several categories.

Fml…why can’t we have nice things?

We don't really know anything, and won't until at least tomorrow - more likely Tuesday - after they finish xrays and MRIs. They also have to usually let the swelling go down before they can talk about possible surgery, if required.

It kind of like shootings, I tend to not comment until we get some real information.

A lot of speculating going on. I'm not participating in that shit. No point to it.

So you are going to give credibility of an assessment by what some saw on film? Not an actual physical diagnosis?? Is this anything like getting a colonoscopy virtually?
Seattle’s head coach addressed Zabel’s status during The Mike Macdonald Show on Seattle Sports with Brock and Salk on Monday.

“I’ll say it’s optimistic right now,” Macdonald said. “So initial news is really positive, but let’s get out of the fog here before I start making any declarations.”

Macdonald said his optimism was based off initial testing done on Zabel. The rookie offensive lineman was scheduled for imaging on his knee Monday morning.

They are surgeons and in the past got Bosa's diagnosis spot on (before the team even did) and many other athletes. Obviously they can only base it on footage but they seem to have educated guesses.

At the time you made your post , what else was there but speculation?

Isn't that what we do on here ?

Just like I said with EJIV's injury, that was not a ACL mechanism of injury, though it was a lot closer to it than Jone's. I figured that EJIV would have a good chance of being back for the Rams game. Admittedly, I thought Jones was going to be a high ankle, but either way, it wasn't an ACL.

This wasn't an ACL mechanism either, though I expect the damage to be a bit more significant, given the mass that impacted Zabel's leg, and the fact that he wasn't dancing around on the sideline afterward.

It's a lot harder to speculate on how long he will be out, but I would be very surprised to see him back before the Colts game.

Yes it's possible to assess these things with a high degree of likelihood from video, if you know what you are looking for. Obviously, it's not possible to be 100% certain without MRI and physical exam.

No official word yet, but here's a glimmer of hope that it isn't serious; glad we won't really need him vs Titans next week and maybe a couple additional weeks after that:
