RT @RapSheet: Former #Cardinals WR Early Doucet will sign with #Seahawks, I'm told. Had worked out for them. Reinforcements at receiver...

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 1m
It's a one-year deal for WR Early Doucet and the #Seahawks. He'll try to regain his form from 2011, when he had 54 catches & 689 yards.

John Boyle ‏@johnpboyle 1m
#Seahawks have agreed to terms with Early Doucet. Waived/inurjed Kenneth Boatright.

So says Twitter.

I love Pete's brand of football. Fundamentally it is absolutely classic. Ball/clock control offense, take it away and don't let you move or score on defense. Classic football in which the other team quits in the 4th quarter. Think he makes the squad.

He has about as good a chance as all the other guys outside of Rice, Tate, Harvin, & Baldwin do, don't count him out.

Don't see him making it over Williams or Kearse.

He's got plenty of competition for what could be the last WR spot.

That being said, he's a solid player. Never hu rts to have the best possible players crammed into your preseason roster. Getting to line up across from good players week to week can only benefit a team in the long run. Having anything less filling up the depth chart leads to things like the winless Lions few years ago, or The Raiders of the last decade.

I remember a few years ago, when the hawks were relying on Ruvell Martin, a 1-kneed Koren, and the guy we gave up a pick to the Panthers for who was Awful.

Doucet probably won't make the team, and he'd have been the #1 on that 2008 squad by week 3. Times have changed.

I hope he's not good enough to make the roster.
Oh em g, a cardinals fan?? They exist? Or just a hawks fan who lives in Phoenix, and doesn't like Doucet?

Hawk fan since about 83. Maybe I wasn't clear, I hope that the receivers we already have in camp are better than Doucet. Like you pointed out, I live in Phoenix and have had plenty of opportunities to see him out on the field. I'm not a big fan.

No, you can't count him out. He's a below average athlete who has been extremely drop-prone and has an injury history to boot. Good veteran guy to have in camp as emergency insurance, but not a legitimate threat for a roster spot barring a rash of injuries ahead of him.
