Honestly thank god they did not do it. I think it is childish to do dumb shit like that. I wonder if they players are as trivial as some fans. They have to go home at night in their million dollar homes and laugh their asses off.

I looked at the billboard as kind of like the Museum of Ancient History advertising their King Tut exhibition.

I'm kinda bummed. I'm 35 with a little bit of disposable income and no criminal record and know a guy with a lift and was looking forward to 12-ing that thing the night it went up regardless of the risk.

I say freedom of speech. If the 9ers fans have the cash as long as it isn't obscene they should be able to do as they want.

If a fan wants to put something like that on their own property, sure, freedom of speech (unless there's some HOA nazis.) Otherwise, they could come up with a billion dollars and it's still ClearChannel's say if they want to run with it or not.

Wonder what a billboard costs near their new stadium? IF the Hawks make it to and win the SB it would be the ultimate insult to injury to do a bill board congratulating the Hawks newly acquired hardware. Then it would just come down to which fan base can got it done and which didn't.

Why would anyone in Seattle fight this? It would be tremendous motivation for the players and the 12th man.

Let it go up.
Agreed. My view has been covered nicely by Doc enough said.

I think it's funnier than hell
I mean, back when the Whiners won their last SB ('1994'), MOST all the players on their roster now, were either shitting yellow, or being sent home for pissing off the 1st grade teachers for picking their noses, and wiping it off on some other kids.

Yeah, either way I love the idea of someone painting cobwebs onto the trophies after it's up. Good way to make money for the Children's Hospital as well as turn a rival fan bases jab into one of our own (on their dime).

Well I didn't see it mentioned yet, but all the money they had left over was given to Seattle Childrens Hospital. I think that's pretty f-ing awesome and way classy. IMO anyone that knows that and still has an issue with a stupid billboard should reevaluate somethings in their life.

That would have been nice if it was part of the initial 'goal' but the fact that it was tacked on at the end after they had already scrounged up their 7K makes it feel kind of...meh. If they didn't even make it to 7K, nothing would have happened and SCH wouldn't have seen a penny. A nice gesture in the end, sure, but once again it just feels like a 'HEY, US TOO!' kind of reaction to what our fan base has already done. Twice. Once they hit their 7K, the donations pretty much stalled out immediately until the update about SCH was made; now it's climbing a little bit higher. I'm not trying to diminish their show of good will and charity, it just feels like it lacks a little in the genuine department with rivalry being the forefront driver and charity in the back seat as an afterthought.

And oh god, the reward tiers...there is no technology or means of creating such a device in this universe that can come close to measuring the undisputed insufferability of 49er fans.

GOLD LEVEL $20 Choose this level and get an internet high five!
PLATINUM LEVEL $50 Nobody has it better than you! (Except for, you know, the division leading, conference leading, best record in all of the NFL and soon to be NFC West and NFC Conference champion Seahawks.) And the three other teams that will host a home playoff game.
DIAMOND LEVEL $100 5 Lombardis for you! (Supply your own Brasso and polishing rags.)

Yup there's a response to that too. Someone set up a fund for Seahawks fans to donate to that would go directly to the UCSF Children's hospital. Last I checked they were at $2000+ for today only. Their goal is $20, 000. Now this part of the rivalry I can get behind

Wouldnt it be awesome if Pete Carroll used that picture as motivation in an important game pre match speech.

Can you imagine the awesomeness of winning the NFC Championship game against the niners using that poster as the key motivational. The niners would then have to acknowledge they directly positively influenced our win. That would be delicious.

Also if we win the SB can we get a billboard in SF that says "Ours is newer than yours".

I haven't been able to find any real evidence that Clear Channel will try to block a billboard. Also, it's strange that on FB people keep posting copied screenshots of this post, but no one has re-posted or embedded the actual post. Not saying it's photo-shopped or fake, but it still seems fishy to me.

Donations being raised for the UCSF children's hospital in the name of the 12th man in response to the SF fans donation to the Seattle Children's hospital. Currently at 3352.00 with a goal of 20,000.00. An anonymous SF fan has offered to match whatever the 12th man raises and donate to the Seattle Children's hospital up to 100,000.00, and the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort is going to match up to 5,000.00 for the Seattle Children's hospital.

Pretty great stuff....
