He's on the tail end of his career. Hard to know what he is looking for, but I think 10 mil a season for 2-3 seasons is reasonable. Unless he doesn't really want to play, and is only willing to do so for a final big contract, he would probably take the offer. He probably wants to be on a contending team, so it may depend on how he sees the Seahawks in the next couple of year. He probably wants to sit out training camp etc. Or, he could sit out until mid-season, and join a team that is showing a high likelihood of going the distance, but loses a guard to injury.

Anyway, I would kick the tires on him. The biggest rub, is that his run grading isn't the best, and that doesn't fit what this team needs. Still, it seems harder to find good pass protectors than run blockers. Also, it is easier to scheme your running attack to cover for a weakness in that area, than in pass blocking.

There are a couple of other decent free agent guards that are worth a look.

Brandon Scherff is still available. He would be a solid addition, and a great mentor for Zabel

Scherff is projected to get a one-year contract worth around $6 to 7 million. I think that would be worth it, and would be a short-term solution to an on-going problem. At age 33, Scherff isn't the all-Pro that he used to be, and is only an average player according to PFF, but he'd be a lot better than the options we have at right guard.

Would love to have Hendrickson, but I can't see paying a 31-year old edge rusher $90 million over 3 years. I think we would live to regret it. Hendrickson had career highs in sacks and TFLs last year, meaning that it's unlikely that he'll replicate those numbers in the future.

The Bengals are cheap, but I can see their dilemma where it comes to Hendrickson. He's not Maxx Crosby or Miles Garrett, but he wants something close to what they're making.

Yes. Projected at 6-7 for a one-year deal. He can get that from anyone. If we want him right now, it's going to take a little more commitment to move the ball. That's why I think something like 20 mil over 2 years or 30 mil over 3 years would be a reasonable offer that would get him to commit. Make it incentive loaded.

I'm surprised Scherff hasn't been signed yet. So many teams need O-line help. I wonder if he's going to wait until later to sign so he can miss as much of training camp as possible. I hope he's on our radar. He seems like a good fit and a necessary piece.
