Not sure what all the controversy is about. This is a pretty natural move considering our situation. It is late in the year so we need backs that know the system. Who better than someone who has been in it for 2 seasons?

The fact that he is young and explosive only makes that even more natural - much more upside than some older back.

Now this is far from ideal, as in I would rather have Rawls and a healthy Marshawn but considering whats out there - this makes a lot of sense.

Michael is as likely to get tackled 5-yards behind the LOS or get the ball popped out as he is to bust a huge run. That's sort of what you get with him. For every flash of brilliance, there was a glaring example of why you couldn't trust him fully.

He's here because he knows the system and because the coaches know what to expect -- good and bad.

The intrigue and entertainment value alone makes me love this. In terms of winning games, it's not as interesting. But at least he's some kind of insurance in case Bryce Brown (who is like the East Coast version of C-Mike) turns out to be completely unreliable.

I think this was the plan all along. Sell Michael to the league as some dumb shmuck with ball handling issues when in reality he is the second coming of AP, only smarter. We send him on a tour of NFC opponents as a spy with instructions to keep his skills and smarts under wraps. He's so smart, he only needs a week or two to learn the entire playbook. Bring him back in and glean lots of info from him, before turning him loose for real. John and Pete are so good they even got a draft pick out of the deal.

This guy. This guy gets it. Not even Belichick thought of this.

This has got Michael having a break out game this weekend written all over it. Have never been convinced by him but sometimes strange things just happen. He's going to run all over the Browns lol
...or fumble the ball 3 or 4 times...

Thats what im expecting.

the guy who couldnt learn our playbook while he was here for over a year, is all of a sudden going to come back after 3 months and pick it all up, no problem...... Yea, I'll believe that :sarcasm_on:
He gets cut by 2 other teams yet some in here think he is going to run for 150 yrds like he never had a problem when he was here before or it somehow just goes away by magic.I'll say this to them-he fumbles a lot!He goes down at little contact! He can't remember wtf he's supposed to do out there!I can't wait till he's cut for the last time. That is all!

Calling it right now he will not touch the ball in a Hawks uniform.

I agree. I think he is just emergency depth like he was before.

But I'd rather have him than a random street FA in an emergency just because he has familiarity with the Offense.

I'm seriously intrigued with Bryce Brown and Christine Michael.

Both are still very young running backs with very little tread on their tires. Both have been jettisoned by multiple teams due to weaknesses. Both have shown flashes of their immense talent, Brown more so than Michael. If Brown can fix his ball security issues, he is going to be very good. If Michael can truly put the past behind him and give his all to this second chance, it might pay some decent dividends for us down the stretch.

After reading Michael's comments today in the Seattle Times, I want this kid to succeed so bad. If he ends up getting a chunk of carries over the next few weeks, I am predicting big things for him. The line is playing great right now and teams can't stack the box against a lethal and on fire Russell Wilson. Someone mentioned it earlier, but Michael's stint in Dallas was going to be tough due to the fact that the Cowboys were trotting out Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel at QB, and Dez Bryant was on the shelf. Opposing teams are going to sell out to stop the run when you're playing scrubs like that. Here, he has the support of a passing offense that is absolutely on fire.

It's the perfect opportunity for Brown and Michael to reinvent themselves in this league.

I feel a whole lot better about our running game right now. I don't feel great about it, but I definitely feel like it's going to be passable, and we might even see some big things out of these two. We'll wait and see.

If we lose another RB before the seasons end, I will be happy he is here. But only because there is NOTHING else out there. I feel like he needs to take some Ritalin before he hits the field. I feel like he over thinks and is to jittery with his quickness. He just needs to settle down, take the handoff, and run where he sees green. And while catching the checkdowns (which he loves to drop), settle down, catch the ball, now turn upfield, now run fast.

Ritalin could probably save his career.

Ask yourself this one question : Is he an improvement over DeJaun Harris? If you andwered "yes" then you should be in favor of this move. I'm kind of neutral based on ball security. If he playa and doesn't fumble it's a win because he sees holes better than Harris based on his previous time here.

I'm excited for his return! With RW finally given more time to throw, this may actually become a stop gap for when Lynch returns.

Not once did C-Mike start at RB for Seattle. Always got limited snaps behind Lynch and Turbo. Watch him go off on Sunday. :snack:

There's a reason he didn't start and got limited snaps. When he couldn't clearly beat out Turbin, I knew he was a dud.

All I ever hear about him is his potential and ability to break a long run off. Has he ever done this at the pro level? If so, I sure cant remember it. He's a bum, but I suppose we had to pick somebody else up and he makes sense in that aspect.

Hopefully he remembered some of the playbook..

One of his biggest issues was not knowing the offense.

Carroll didn't rob another practice squad. He didn't hesitate to send Harris packing.

Obviously, he likes Michael more than Seahawks.net does. I like the pick up.

I hope he rushes for over 200 yards in the game.

But he was discarded for a seventh rounder, discarded again, then discarded again. Not a lot of room for hope here.

The preseason is my favorite time of the year. There's no pressure to win and you get to see about three times as many players take the field as you normally would. But best of all, preseason games are like the NFL equivalent of an elimination based reality show like Survivor. Guys are playing for their jobs every week.

This game only matters, and barely, if Seattle loses. Even if Seattle loses they would still control their own destiny and probably make the playoffs.

So normally, this would be a pretty boring game. But with the Seahawks trying out three different RBs to win a short term starting job and possibly a chance to compete for the 2016 roster, now we actually have a reason to care, especially if Lynch doesn't make it back for the playoffs for whatever reason.

It helps to that both Brown and Michael are physially gifted backs. They were street FAs for a reason, but both can be fun to watch. Coleman looks like he's got some burst too.

I've watched Michaels tape a few times and I'm still blown away by his talent on a regular basis. It wouldn't shock me at all if he blows up and puts up big numbers the rest of the way. It also wouldn't surprise me if he does absolutely nothing. That's what makes this so intriguing. He is more talented than people realize on .net

I'm excited about brown/Michael and hope they can keep the running game acceptable. I have a feeling they will.

I said in another thread, I'll be happy as long as we have a legitimate threat of a run game.

If we don't and the opposition can drop everybody back into coverage, we will be pulling our hair out and throwing crap at our TVs
RW is hot right now and has really stepped up his passing game but we need that threat to open things up. If bringing CM back contributes to the threat I really don't care how many yards he can run for and I'll be happy to have him back.
