Great post.

You want a short passing game and more protection? Draft a 6'4" QB and bring back Holmgren...within a few years there will be nobody bitching about that anymore.

This team is built to run well...not dink and dunk passes. It aint your sexuality you cant have it both ways. This team is built to run and throw over top. Add in Wilson and Pete's preference for not taking chances, and voila, dot.net griping.
yep, although I would argue we did get some short passing going today

You can have it both ways and if you're not interested in a short passing game, why the huge capital spent on Percy who excels in that type of game? I think they do want it both ways and did show signs of it a bit today.

On a Pe note, would that make our team bi-offenseual?

IMO, Harvin's a Sproles/Bush (NO version)/Waterbug outlet player. I don't ever see him going over the middle. He's bubble screens and the outlet in the flat, instead of Lynch, should something break down.

Basically, instead of Wilson scrambling for 30 yards...he'll do a toss to Harvin to do it for him. THAT'S Harvin's purpose, IMO.

Could be though I think they want him some over the middle too and some deep too. We'll see. You may well be correct and it could have a fallout effect with other guys getting open more readily. Just hope he helps put a charge in the offense in whatever way it takes.

I think I'm fairly alone on this opinion, but I think people expecting to see Harvin as a "true" WR offensively are wrong. He'll be the Seahawks flanker/HB. He'll be our Sproles.

Actually wouldn't surprise me but would disappoint me considering the outlay for the guy.

I disagree. How many 3rd and shorts have the hawks had a designed run? I can count more 3rd and less than 4 with empty backfields. I would love to see the hawks come out and run for a 1st three times. We don't fool to many people anymore with the boots because of this.

I hope nobody expected that. He's a jack of all trades type. He's not going to have a defined role

I call BS...see offense last half of 2012

I'm not expecting us to dink and dunk. Some blitz beaters should be expected though and other short routes to help relieve the pressure of a horrible Oline. I must say though, I was happy we threw a lot of short routes today. Wish we could've mixed it up a little bit though.

In the last half of 2012 - there were 2 games where Russell had more than 20 completions and only one with more than 27 attempts. His Yards/Attempt was 10. We did not have a short passing game either last year. We just had better pass blocking.

I definitely agree with you for the most part. He will be a YAC guy - running screens and a lot of stuff out of the backfield to get better matchups with safeties and linebackers. Besides why take Golden Tate off the field?
